Should bridges be unlocked?!
Tl;dr: After Cryptic did away with bridges, with the advent of the NX, I propose the following: unlock all bridges! Aka, allow a player to unlock any bridge they already own (either directly, thru a ship they own, or, indirectly, via a bridge pack), to be put on any ships they own.
See, unlocking all bridges has great advantages; like you have, say, this ship-shape and Bristol fashion new 'toilet-brush' vessel, but only a default bridge. Wouldn't you want to put like the Tal'Shiar bridge on it? Unlocking bridges has many advantages, and practically no drawbacks I can think of. To name a few:
* Won't cost Cryptic a penny;
* Puts the pressure off Cryptic for making new bridges;
* Makes ships with only a default bridge (think Bajoran Ani ship, for instance) more desireable (likely making Cryptic a bit more more money);
* Creates a huge incentive for people to buy that 1 hopelessly expensive ship, knowing they can use its bridge elsewhere (even more likely to make Cryptic money);
* Causes virtually no visual canon issues, as it's all on the inside;
* All that would be required, on Cryptic's end, is to remove the lock on bridges, and simply let you choose from all bridges you have access to;
* Makes players happy.![:) :)]()
Keep in mind, you wouldn't be depriving Cryptic of any money, as we're only talking about bridges you already own.
So, how do you say?

Hello! This is a poll where you can decide what should be done with PvP. Should it be changed into something better? Should it be removed? Or, should it remain untouched? Say so here! Also, say why or why not.
rules:
-you can explain your answer once
-no complaining about someone else's answer
-no saying why Cryptic will/will not change PvP, we want opinions instead of facts
-no trying to disprove someone or change their opinion. They can change it themselves if they want to.
-no long articles (patrickngo)
-This is a thread to say if you want to keep PvP or not. This is not a place to argue or explain why Cryptic hasn't changed PvP. It is entirely up to Cryptic to decide what happens. This thread is to get Cryptic's attention about PvP and I do not guarantee any changes.
I support PvP because I think it will give STO another fun, extra part of the game for those that have nothing else to do. It will also encourage more players to play the game.
For anything you have about PvP that does not fit under the rules above, you can say your stuff at http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/1213524/new-pvp-petition-like-discussion/p1.
I plan on sending this as a petition to Cryptic by 100 or so votes, depending on how popular this might become, so your descision may matter!!!!
I am reaching for at least 100 votes! Please share with your STO friends!

Question About Tanks
BACKGROUND...
I blew an embarrassing amount of cash when I first picked up the game, trying out different ships and gear sets. I was told early on energy weapons were the way to go. Science was interesting, but not really a viable end-game option. Neither was tanking. Eventually, I settled on beams, learned how to set up a decent macro, and got my numbers up a bit, nothing fancy, but enough to fit in. A couple of years in, I took my first break. I popped back in about a year later, got caught up, and was happy to see science had become a viable option. Having recently re-watched one of the series, I got in the mood to pop back in after another year off. I blew some accumulated lifetime Zen, and upgraded a few things. I ran through the last expansion, and read up on the new items. I messed around with some ground combat and Borg runs, looking for something different to do. After about a week, I fell back into the usual Crystalline runs and selling off rewards, cycling through all characters, essentially grinding slowly toward another ship.
I play a few tacs for the buffs, but prefer science captains for photonic fleet. When they introduced SRO, I put more focus on my Fed Roms. I keep a Klingon around because his carrier looks like a crawfish and his pirate boffs help a bit, but don't spend much time on that side. I made a few aliens because they were funny to look at. Once I realized how important DPS is to the end game, and how great SRO was for getting those numbers up, I dumped a couple. I kept my first non-Rom captain, despite his lack of SRO, because I invested so much into trying out different ships with him. I made a temporal captain to check that out when that was going on, and made it human so I could fly the old Enterprise with it. But, I usually sacrifice the option to fly Fed ships and go with Roms for SRO and SRO boffs. I love the thought of flying an Enterprise type ship, but I always wind up in an account wide unlock or lock box ship to get those numbers up. I've got a couple of traditional beam warbirds, but find gravity well AoE torpedo boats more fun. I prefer four torpedoes up front, so while I do enjoy the science ships, I tend toward carriers with Scorpions. I've always wanted a reason to play the Picard Enterprise long-term. Min maxing a glass cannon is great, but it gets old after a while. Playing science with AoE lowers the numbers a bit, but it's a fun option that can be viable. But, the tank has always been hanging out there, an entire slice of the pie that can't be enjoyed at end game.
TO THE POINT...
My question is, have they changed anything to make tanking count toward things like Crystalline? I see they've added a couple of more cruisers during this last break. So, I'm hoping this has been addressed in some way. The last time I played, being a tank meant never winning anything and literally getting cursed at for low DPS. There was no incentive in the end game to continue playing one.
If you're going to tell me how I should play whatever I want and ignore people who yell, etc. I know. I know. I'm just looking to find out if anything has changed since a year ago, for tanking in the end game. If not, no big deal. I'll just keep playing what works for a while.

PSA - Phoenix packs return, don't forget the free daily at DS9
https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10817164-the-phoenix-prize-pack-returns
Remember to pick up your free token and free one-time-use admiralty small craft every day at DS9,
Phoenix packs are better than superior tech upgrades, since they use less dill (4,000 for 4x the posts), are universal, and are free. That's even if every pack gave out green tokens, but I'd guess the rate for rare or better is between 1/3 - 1/2 of the packs.
If you want one of the Epic prizes, be warned that the odds for getting Epic tokens are very low, probably worse than lock box ships (1 in 250).

log in issues
after five times of trying and waiting five times to connect. I can not log into STO. Earlier today, It was working great. So there isnt any internet connection at my end of the keys.
So it has to be one of two things. Too many people on the one server and it is over whelmed, which needs to be updated to at least a few more servers to handle all the players that are logging into through PC and all the video game consoles. Two the game needs a good fixing and a reall good hard look at all the bugs, tech issues, and listening to those that play the game.

Special Reconnaissance Squadron >>> Recruitment

Join here: http://srs-fleet.net/html/join_srs.html
Special Reconnaissance Squadron is recruiting again. SRS is a group of 7 fleets, many of which specialise in different areas of the game. We are an international group based out of the UK. We have event organisers in most timezones. Everyone is welcome to join and you will find us laid back but professional, family friendly and helpful. Our website has many current builds and our Discord server is usually buys, especially in the evenings, should you wish to chat verbally.
We have access to all holdings maxed out and our Colony World is approaching T4.
Uniquely we have a our very own Mission Replay Points system which uses combat log data to track your progress as you play events. There are around 2000 events per year and you are measured on DPS, Threat, Healing and team damage %, this, coupled with bonus events for each week will end up giving the player a score which is added to our ongoing leaderboards. At the end of the year there are some pretty big prizes, as seen below.

Events vary hugely, but we have many many custom built foundry episodes that are open to all, reward dilithium and are fantastic fun. Here are a few of the events we are putting on at the moment and a few past ones as examples.

If you feel you would like to join our fleet please click on the link below and follow the instructions. We look forward to meeting you.

Gameplay Issue: Phoenix Box should contain Deprecated T5 Lockbox Ships
Given that the OG lockbox ship, the T5 Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, is available at the Ultra Rare tier in the Phoenix Store, the following deprecated T5 lockbox offerings should also be included at Ultra Rare, especially now that they have T6 counterparts:
Given that the Epic tier of ships contains exclusive T6 event releases, the following exclusive T5 event releases should also be added, but to the Ultra Rare tier along with other T5 offerings, even though some pre-date Legacy of Romulus. Given that the Phoenix Prize Tokens are bound to account, players can simply scoop them up on an alternate character. I am aware of the Fleet Store availability of some of these, but the prices are pretty high.
Previously exclusive uniform unlocks would be really great additions at the Very Rare tier! There's really no reason to not make these available, and it's not a "slap in the face" to anyone who just happened to be online that day after reading the website post and/or forums.
Note that since the T5 Lobi ships are still in the Lobi store, those don't need to be included in the Phoenix Store. But these prizes are truly unavailable now and it's what the Phoenix Pack is all about.
- Cardassian Galor Cruiser
- Xindi-Aquatic Narcine Dreadnought Carrier
- Elachi S'golth Escort
- Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer
- ...list should continue to expand as T5->T6 conversions continue

STO Done Quick (speed running)
Hi. I was watching GQD for their winter charity drive and I got to thinking: How fast could STO be done?
So I decided to work up some basic rules and try some test runs to see what was possible and such. This is kind of a record of what I'm doing and open to others to make suggestions and comments.
Of course, what "done quick" means can vary. Queue runs are frequent and pretty awesome, but I'm terrible at those, so I won't be doing them (leave it to the pros). On a smaller scale is individual missions or story arcs and while I can see that being an option, I want to go a bit more extreme because why the hell not?
The result is what I'm going to call Zero to Midnight, a run starting with a new character and pushing my way up through at least Midnight, the "end" of the main storyline STO started with (Future Proof and beyond is something extra).
This will be considered an Any% run, aka, I don't have to complete every mission or accolade. I will call it "Max Account" which means I get full access to all account unlocks (mostly because it's fun to play with them) as well as getting access to crafted gear. Zero means starting a new character, and I have been trying some ideas, one with the tutorial and one without.
Mostly this thread will be me talking about the ideas on how to do it and what times I've managed in short. This will NOT be any kind of "record" thing, because I don't have any way currently to verify any times.
I am using this timer: https://www.w00ty.com/sda/timer/ Using the RT (real time) option. Next post will be my first decisions and attempts. And yes, I do like challenging myself.
EDIT: I did forget that this is a NO XP boost run, I never use them anyway, so I keep forgetting it.

ABOUT THE UFPLANETS ARMADA
Our Armada is designed with a community focus at the forefront and the UFP has been involved in the Star Trek gaming scene for over 13 years. You can read more about the history of the UFP here. What separates our Armada from others you may come across is our dedication to our members and those wishing to align themselves with us. We share an interest in the Star Trek franchise but also strive to uphold and promote the values of equality, respect, honour, and justice as described in the United Federations of Planets charter.
We have an extensive history with STO, including interviews with developers, assistants and stars with more planned for the future. Our community is often given exclusive access to these important game resources due in part to our organisation’s size and in part to the partnerships we’ve formed with our sources and the larger community. In addition to the dedication of our all volunteer staff, we also have a number of STO players who are always willing to help others out with builds, tips and tricks, helping players with their own goals, or just getting together for fun.

An Introduction to The House of Kular
NEH DAQ MAY' 'OH TLHINGAN TEH TLHINGAN
ONLY IN BATTLE IS A KLINGON TRULY KLINGON
The House of Kular, or HoK for short, is the United Federation of Planets (UFP) division responsible for the support of STO's Klingon faction, along with all Klingon-aligned Romulans.
HoK supports the Klingon faction through three primary fields: Fleet Management, Event Support, and Forum Support. HoK manages all of this with a great team of staff filling several different roles, including:
Battle Officers: HoKs front-line warriors responsible for the planing and hosting of events for UFP's Klingon population.
Battle Masters: The staff responsible for maintaining HoK's fleet holdings, and making sure there is always projects available for members to earn Fleet Credits.
Orion Syndicate Traders: Members entrusted with looking after HoK's fleet banks, and acquiring rare & expensive items to sell in our Fleet Shop at a discount.
Positions in these job rolls are often available for members who are interested in giving something back to the community.
What The House of Kular offers it members:
- Fleet Management: In total HoK manages a grand total of eight holdings and two banks spread across two fleets in-game, of which the main fleet has every upgrade complete (until they add the next one). Along with invites, promotions, Roll Call processing and the messages of the day - HoK is, partly, our in-game admin power-horse for the Klingon Defense Force.
- Event Support: If fleet management is the pint, events are the blood wine. Supported through a dedicated event team, the largest portion of HoK's staff sees to this field with complete focus. Including but not limited to all end-game PvE content runs, themed PvP events, Bat'leth competitions, and massive Fleet Days - there is something for everyone.
- Forum Support: Finally, HoK support's STO's Klingon faction on the UFP's forums. Under these forums members can discuss, among themselves, builds, upcoming content, make guides, and most importantly request an invite to the fleet.

Since it's creation in May 2002, the UFP has grown from a small Star Trek gaming clan to what it is today, an international Star Trek community made by fans, for fans.
It is a place where thousands of Star Trek fans of all ages from all around the world come together to share in their passion for all things Star Trek. What the UFPlanets.com Community asks of its gaming members (what we call the Starfleet branch):
All that members are asked for from the UFPlanets.com Community is simple and easy. Members are asked to sign the Community Roll Call which happens on a monthly basis. This can be done fairly easily with just a few clicks of the mouse. The second is to adhere to our simple Community code of conduct.
Why should I join the UFPlanets.com Community?
Our gaming fleet, known as 'The United Federation of Planets', has been voted the world's number one Star Trek gaming fleet and for good reason, we have a large and friendly membership, dedicated officers and an award winning website and forums all of which is in addition to our strong support for a range of Star Trek titles some of which we are able to provide to our members for free!
We're eager to build on our success and develop an equally impressive Star Trek community where fans of all ages from around the world can enjoy a truly authentic and entertaining Star Trek social experience.
Despite our achievements and successes we are aware that our community might not be for everyone so if you would like to know more please feel free to pay us a visit at www.ufplanets.com to find out more about us.
To those interested in Armada Partnerships:
We are very interested in finding reputable and well-respected community partners to form new relationships. The UFP Armada is designed with a community focus at the forefront and we have been an influential part of the Star Trek gaming scene for over 13 years. What separates our Armada from others you may come across is our dedication to members and those wishing to align themselves with us.
We have an extensive history with STO, including interviews with influential developers, assistants and stars with more planned for the future. We also have a number of dedicated STO players who are always willing to help others out with builds, tips and tricks, helping players with their own goals, or just getting together for fun.
The UFP is currently spread across 5 total fleets, 4 FED and 3 KDF. We have a 60 day inactivity policy enforced for our primary fleets, but our alt fleets are unrestricted. The UFP currently has over 1300 active characters and 600 unique STO members.
We would like to be your home away from home among the stars. We support autonomy for all armada members, but we will also work to ensure that you have representation and a voice in matters affecting relations between different groups, the management of armada features, and an open line of communication to discuss concerns and questions. Your fleet will be recognised as an important part of our greater community!

K 13 New Doffing Contact Missing
@engineerb4#4806
Per patch notes:
K-13 fleet holding:
Added special duty officer assignment to K-13 station, to survey the Draconis system for useful minerals.
Success awards energy credits and dilithium ore; critical success also awards K-13 fleet provisions.
The lieutenant handling these assignments is outside of the office in the main central area.
Assignments become available immediately upon reaching Tier 1 in the full K-13 holding
The contact is nowhere to be found on K13 (maxed out K13).
Edit: This seems to be an issue on KDF fleets only, it is there on Fed side.
