Feedback on reputation overhaul

$

First, I can confirm that with both characters born on Tribble and characters transferred to Tribble from Holodeck, the sponsorship is automatic. I was worried when I first loaded a fed toon that had not run the Omega rep and did not see the change in points rewarded for the daily and hourly submissions. However, once I went to a toon that had completed omega and went back, the toon had the double points sponsorship added.

I also transferred toon from Holodeck that had completed most reputations. All checked Tribble toons now have the sponsorship applied.

I did notice that it looks like either Jem'Hadar toons cannot apply sponsorship or that the Gamma rep does not have the automatic sponsorship ability.

On a side note, switching characters on the character selection screen now ends up with an extreme close-up of your BoFF's feet and you character is "missing". Logging in and backing out fixes this until you swap characters.

An Introduction to The House of Kular

NEH DAQ MAY' 'OH TLHINGAN TEH TLHINGAN
ONLY IN BATTLE IS A KLINGON TRULY KLINGON

The House of Kular, or HoK for short, is the United Federation of Planets (UFP) division responsible for the support of STO's Klingon faction, along with all Klingon-aligned Romulans.
HoK supports the Klingon faction through three primary fields: Fleet Management, Event Support, and Forum Support. HoK manages all of this with a great team of staff filling several different roles, including:

Battle Officers: HoKs front-line warriors responsible for the planing and hosting of events for UFP's Klingon population.

Battle Masters: The staff responsible for maintaining HoK's fleet holdings, and making sure there is always projects available for members to earn Fleet Credits.

Orion Syndicate Traders: Members entrusted with looking after HoK's fleet banks, and acquiring rare & expensive items to sell in our Fleet Shop at a discount.

Positions in these job rolls are often available for members who are interested in giving something back to the community.

What The House of Kular offers it members:

  • Fleet Management: In total HoK manages a grand total of eight holdings and two banks spread across two fleets in-game, of which the main fleet has every upgrade complete (until they add the next one). Along with invites, promotions, Roll Call processing and the messages of the day - HoK is, partly, our in-game admin power-horse for the Klingon Defense Force.
  • Event Support: If fleet management is the pint, events are the blood wine. Supported through a dedicated event team, the largest portion of HoK's staff sees to this field with complete focus. Including but not limited to all end-game PvE content runs, themed PvP events, Bat'leth competitions, and massive Fleet Days - there is something for everyone.
  • Forum Support: Finally, HoK support's STO's Klingon faction on the UFP's forums. Under these forums members can discuss, among themselves, builds, upcoming content, make guides, and most importantly request an invite to the fleet.

Introduction to UFP

Since it's creation in May 2002, the UFP has grown from a small Star Trek gaming clan to what it is today, an international Star Trek community made by fans, for fans.

It is a place where thousands of Star Trek fans of all ages from all around the world come together to share in their passion for all things Star Trek. With a team of more than fifty dedicated volunteers who all love Star Trek, their mission is to make sure our community members have the best and most unique Star Trek experience on the internet. The UFP provides the ultimate fan club, without the fees, without the fuss and without the cliche mistakes.

We offer a lot more to Star Trek fans than simply a place to talk about Star Trek. UFP also actively supports a range of Star Trek games from the MMO 'Star Trek Online' to classic titles such as 'Star Trek: Bridge Commander' and 'Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force' as well as roleplaying via Forum SIMMs and RPG-X. UFP also features it's own in-house news team who report the latest Star Trek news as well as producing thought provoking articles and delivering world exclusive interviews."

What the UFP offers it members:

What the UFPlanets.com Community asks of its gaming members (what we call the Starfleet branch):

All that members are asked for from the UFPlanets.com Community is simple and easy. Members are asked to sign the Community Roll Call which happens on a monthly basis. This can be done fairly easily with just a few clicks of the mouse. The second is to adhere to our simple Community code of conduct.

Why should I join the UFPlanets.com Community?

Our gaming fleet, known as 'The United Federation of Planets', has been voted the world's number one Star Trek gaming fleet and for good reason, we have a large and friendly membership, dedicated officers and an award winning website and forums all of which is in addition to our strong support for a range of Star Trek titles some of which we are able to provide to our members for free!

We're eager to build on our success and develop an equally impressive Star Trek community where fans of all ages from around the world can enjoy a truly authentic and entertaining Star Trek social experience.

Despite our achievements and successes we are aware that our community might not be for everyone so if you would like to know more please feel free to pay us a visit at www.ufplanets.com to find out more about us.

To those interested in Armada Partnerships:

We are very interested in finding reputable and well-respected community partners to form new relationships. The UFP Armada is designed with a community focus at the forefront and we have been an influential part of the Star Trek gaming scene for over 13 years. What separates our Armada from others you may come across is our dedication to members and those wishing to align themselves with us.

We have an extensive history with STO, including interviews with influential developers, assistants and stars with more planned for the future. We also have a number of dedicated STO players who are always willing to help others out with builds, tips and tricks, helping players with their own goals, or just getting together for fun.

The UFP is currently spread across 5 total fleets, 4 FED and 3 KDF. We have a 60 day inactivity policy enforced for our primary fleets, but our alt fleets are unrestricted. The UFP currently has over 1300 active characters and 600 unique STO members.

We would like to be your home away from home among the stars. We support autonomy for all armada members, but we will also work to ensure that you have representation and a voice in matters affecting relations between different groups, the management of armada features, and an open line of communication to discuss concerns and questions. Your fleet will be recognised as an important part of our greater community!

I can't get or pick up any missions like Klingon, Borg, Romulan storylines etc...

I am level 65 honored 1st jem'hadar, although for some reason under captain/career is shows a diff. rank (just the line and 1 rank pip).

I've completed (100%) episodes:
-engineered for war
-gamma quadrant
-solanae dyson sphere
-the iconian war
-future proof
-new frontiers

But ALL other episodes are LOCKED except klingon/stranded in space but even that I try to get and all I get is...

Please use this thread to post all feedback and issues found in regards to our streamlining of the mission journal.

Streamlining the Mission Journal:
  • With the launch of Age of Discovery, we have chosen to update the story experience throughout the episode journal.
  • We’ve moved a number of episodes which occurred before the Delta Quadrant Arc out of the required mission journal flow.
    • These episodes will still be available via hand-off missions in the Available missions tab.
  • In addition to this, Task Force Operations will be unlocked at lower levels as players progress through the episode arcs.
    • Task Force Operations is the new name for PvE Queues.
  • These changes mostly impact Federation captains but some changes were made for Klingon and Romulan Captains.
  • This is still a work in progress.
  • For more details, please visit the Streamlining the Mission Journal blog at: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10993953-streamlining-the-mission-journal

I was looking to get the KHG deflector and engine for my torpedo build:

https://sto.gamepedia.com/Klingon_Honor_Guard_(Space)

However, when I hover over the project in the game, the deflector has the stats listed for the AKHG, and vice versa.

I don't want to waste marks on the wrong one - which one do I need for the torpedo bonus? Is the wiki wrong?

Photon 30k-80k torpedo damage bug

$

So I was playing the romulan patrol and saw some...interesting mathematics involving buggy Tal shiar and photon(yes, just photon, not plasma) torpedoes.

20180916170916_1.jpg

"But alex, that was a critical hit, it's supposed to hit hard" Oh really? Lets look at another screenshot, of a photon hitting without a critical strike, of my combat logs eh? See how much damage it does.

20180916170849_1.jpg

Thank god the shields absorbed that.

Now many people are telling me that, well this is a bug. I can understand a heavy plasma torpedo causing problems on impact, but a regular, photon, torpedo hitting this hard? This is total breaking willing suspension of disbelief. This is also not on elite, it's not even on advanced difficulty. This was on NORMAL DIFFICULTY.

This is what people are talking about the game being especially unfair is how npc's on NORMAL mode are doing far to much damage. When romulans get to cheat with 30k damage torpedoes, over 80k crit. This seriously needs to be fixed. This I bet is very much driving new players away, they are like "Nope, this game is to hard". I don't blame them. This is a colossal failure. Cryptic for gods sake and for the sake of STO fix this. And if I was you, I would STRONGLY advise going deep in there and seeing what other npc's are achieving such impossibly high damage with torpedoes like this. Especially the normal ones that you cannot shoot down or dodge.

People are telling me this is a clear bug or oversight, for the sake of STO fix this.

PvE queues are broke since the revamp of them

$

ever since the victory Is life expansion came out the pve queues are broke.

ive been spending more time waiting on a que time to start than I do actually playing them now.
you queue up a pve and you wait for enough people for the que, then some tart that queued it rejects its or misses readying up for it so your back to waiting for the timer comes up again but when it does your not given the option to accept/reject it so you have to wait for the time to count down only be to kicked from the queue because you failed to accept/reject it because you never had an option for it. so now you back to waiting again, and forget about setting up a team of 5 players to play queues since only the leader is ever given the option to accept/reject the queue now.

how do you go from having a fully working queue system to breaking it in one expansion?

seems like every time an update or expansion comes out some thing that has been working for years gets broke, doesn't cryptic have a QA person, and if they do why are they not doing their job and making sure things are working before a release.

what STO needs for consoles is a what they have for the pc a tribble/beta server to make sure updates/expansions are not going to break a working game for months because the track record makes it seem like cryptic never tests any of the stuff they are putting out for consoles before they release it?

> We are excited to announce the return of the Phoenix Prize Pack, which return to Star Trek Online on PC from September 27th at 8AM PT til October 5th at 10am PT.

Daily freebie: Last time the new DS9 was missing the contact but Drozena Station had them.

Based on posts here, the odds of getting an Epic token seem to be somewhere between 1:500 and 1:eleventy-billion so don't expect to get one.

Do it for the upgrade tokens: each 4,000-dil pack (buying the 10-packs) gets you an upgrade replacing 4 x Superior Tech Ugrades that require 4,300 dil. You save 300 dil plus the cost or mats for crafting the upgrades. Plus, at least 1/3 of the packs have a rare or better result getting you *2* tech upgrades. So you really save around 2,000 dil.

Finally, Phoenix tech upgrades work on all types of gear not just beams or shields or whatever.

LIBERTY TASK FORCE
"Liberty, Equality, Justice, Peace & Cooperation"

www.LibertyTaskForce.com
Info@LibertyTaskForce.com

Dear Star Trek Online Gamer,

Liberty Task Force (FED) and Liberty Honor Guard (KDF) are still recruiting (PC only). Please consider us as you Star Trek Online fleet. Here is a little bit about us...

Our Mission:

Liberty Task Force is a Star Trek Online gaming fleet that was established on April 28th, 2013. Since that time we have grown and are now made up of 3 FED fleets: Liberty Task Force (Lv80), Pride of the Federation (Lv79), & Liberty Guardians (Lv77) and 2 KDF fleets Liberty Honor Guard (Lv 77) & Pride of the Empire (lv77). Our mission and goal was to create a fun and friendly gaming community for both new and veteran players, and that's exactly what we have accomplished. We started this fleet with one key central idea in mind: that every member, whether their rank be high or low, has a voice on fleet business and that their voice be heard and acknowledged. That's why, along with a fair and highly structured ranking system, we proudly boast a voting system for major fleet amendments, regulations, activities, and events including major fleet holding projects. We believe that the fleet belongs to all its members not just the top few or the "in-crowd". Our ranking system is based on contributions to the fleet and your first promotion basically unlocks everything but the fleet vaults, and there is plenty of room for advancement for those that seek it. Nevertheless, we also welcome "solo" players that want the benefits of a fleet without having to commit a lot of time, effort, contributions, or having to pass all kinds of online gaming tests or roll-calls. The only requirement is you have to register on our website.

We are laid-back and respectful players. We do not judge anyone based on race, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, economic status, political and religious beliefs, or your gaming style (so long as it doesn't impede with anyone else's). We won't berate and yell at you if you have to leave an STF or Fleet Action in the middle of the mission because the family or real-life come calling; we understand we have those too. If you want to learn the game, this is a great fleet to be in. If you want to teach new players the in's and out's of the game, this is a great fleet to be in. If you simply are looking for a group of friends that share similar interests, this is a great fleet to be in. We have members from all over the world; from across the U.S.A. to across parts of Europe so there is bound to be someone online on our website or in-game with whom to interact with. In fact our Admiralty is filled with players in the United States as well as across Europe so getting a hold of one of us is as easy as sending a quick message on the website or a request in our fleet and armada chat channels, and we always have room for more who want to take on a leadership role in the fleet.

We offer opportunities and activities for both the casual and hard-core gamer alike. Everyone is welcome and we offer PvE in STF's and Fleet Actions, as well as PvP events. We also have fleet activities where members can win great in-game prizes like ship boxes, keys, EC, and more. Again, we are also happy to house the "solo" player that just likes to play the episodes or foundry missions or just grind with their character. We sport an active website with forums, galleries, chat, and much more including Team Speak to communicate with each other within the game.

Our fleets are also part of a large armada (STOFA) filled with many wonderful and friendly players to socialize or team up with as well. Currently on the FED side our Armada level is 1032 and for the KDF level 896.

Feel free to have a look around www.libertytaskforce.com and make yourself at home. There is something here for everyone and we hope you join our Star Trek Online family community and we hope even more that you decide to join one of our fleets. Should you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to contact me directly at Info@LibertyTaskForce.com. Once again thank you for considering us. Take care.

Best Regards,
-Jose a.k.a Grayfox
