With the multiplication of factions and timelines, developers are now talking about "simulation" to describe the fact of playing an episode from another faction. This could be an opportunity to give holodecks a real role !
Holodecks are underused in STO. The only ones that exist are in social areas and in some ships interiors, but they are useless. So, why not make all those missions that do not belong to the main story of a faction be available in the holodecks (making sure to incorporate one in all the ship interiors)? This could give holodecks real utility and it would make more sense from the RP perspective.
