FROZEN in CCE and given AFK penalty

Just tried to play the CCE and my ship was completely frozen in place, like i never got released from the report.
tried everything i could think of to 'move' but to no avail. entity destroyed and I was dumped out and AFK penalized. anyone else have this happen to them?

A single Ultimate tech upgrade...What item would you upgrade?

Went into the borg red alert. Before I could reach the two ships nearest me, some 30 km away, they were destroyed. I started to turn toward the next closest group, some 50km away, and apparently they and three other groups were destroyed (elapsed time, perhaps 8 seconds).

Boss ship cutscene as it warps in. One guy was nearby it (I assume), by the time I turned my camera to face it, it was destroyed. Elapsed time 2 seconds. Total red alert, 10 seconds. I never had a chance to fire a shot.

Now I'm sitting around with an afk penalty, because the devs have so thoroughly broken the dps in the game. It's seriously out of control, and is ruining the game experience of many players.

I say this, knowing this is old news... but I feel it needs to be mentioned again in the hope (probably a vain hope) that they may one day address the problem.

Why are most of pve queues empty??

I tried to queue up but most of them have no players..... quite frustrating. Soni have to keep playig the same few missions over and over again to gain reputation points.

Yes I'm going to tackle this. And you guys are free to list your comments and concerns with the show.

Starting with the Klingons.
1. Their Klingon sounds HORRIBLE. Just use it here and there then use the universal translator. My god it hurts my ears.
2. Ships. You're trying to tell me those...things....are set in between Ent and TOS? Yeah no.
3. However I could of bought it if those Klingons were an offshoot of the mutagenic virus that swept the Empire during Ent and left for the fringes of the empire to be alone and find their own way and now are back to fix the spineless pah'taq and lead the empire back to glory. Not a cheap shot at conservatism that has been sweeping the western world lately as a backlash to progressivism.

Now the Federation.
1. Technology. Specifically the spore drive and holographic communications. The former, because that tech simply does not fit. WAY too advanced for the day. This is something I'd expect to find in STO years after the Dominion war. Not 10 years before STO. And holographic coms? Ummm NO. That was JUST beginning to be toyed with in DS9 around 2371. Not 2254. Just NO.
2. Burnham. I abhor her character. All of it. Supplanting Spock as a HUMAN in the eyes of Sarek? Umm who wrote that mess? Mutiny? Wanting to shoot the Klingons without provocation flying in the face of Logic? Just a never ending message of badly written female empowerment of saying "hey you can break every rule in the book. But still be the hero." Make Burnham a male, yeah he'd if gone to prison and never seen the light of day.
3. Ship design. Felt like a retooled JJ verse show. Sizing was upscaled for no reason while trying to be prime timeline. Had this been it's own separate line, most of my issues disappear. Except for Burnham.
4. How I'd fix tech issues:
A. Scale correctly!!!
B. Replace spore drive with Transwarp. Now before we slip a gear. Excelsior was not stated in the movie to be the first ship ever to have it. Could of been the first ship to see if the tech could be used and massed produced while Discovery could be the first ship to actually be proof of concept. But at the time the federation didn't have the resources to mass produce the tech needed to fully outfit the fleet. And the holo communications, DITCH THEM. Use a damn screen like everyone else!!!
5. Aesthetics. Hey I get that if Gene had the tech of today, TOS would look WAY different. But stop going overboard and stop creeping ideas over from JJ verse. I get a lot of the production crew worked on those movies, but pull your heads out of your 6 if you want to be in the prime timeline for God's sake!

What didn't bother me.
1. Lorca. Too bad though he didn't get long enough screen time.
2. **** on screen relationship in a show. Didn't feel forced and felt organic to the show.
3. Holly wasn't bad but at times a bit too comical.
4. Re imagined Enterprise looked good. Almost like the second flight Enterprise the producers had in mind until they went with the TMP refit style. Someone said it best, JJ should of used a design like that in his movies.

Those are my biggest bones of contention with the show. STD is a major victim of the times we live in. Yes Star Trek many times pushed social issues into the show. Many times it felt organic to the story. Sometimes it was a bit too on the nose like the TNG episode that warp drive was hurting the universe. Biggest issue with the show it's almost ALL completely on the nose with its message and feels like they are beating me over the head with what they want to say rather than creatively sliding it into the story.

Just my thoughts and views. Take them as you will.

today on my vanguard jem hadar zorro@tenchi19999 (2-3 days ago now)
i completed tour of duty 10/10 on the united federation of planets part of the admirlaity system..it is supposed to give you 2 Specialization points. it only gave me 1
is it only affacting jem hadars aligned with klingons

Hi all, I've been a long time(4 years) STO player but this is only my 3rd post. When I first started playing I was not fully aware of the value of the traits of some Bridge officers. Like quite a few people I suspect, I discharged my "Hierarchy Science/Intelligence Officer Candidate" not understanding his true value at the time.
If any Devs, etc are reading, would it be possible to enable a limited time or special event re-run of the "Alliances" mission to allow those of us who accidentally or unwittingly discharged our "Hierarchy Science/Intelligence Officer Candidate"?
Another option might be to enable reclaiming this officer or another roughly equivalent in an upcoming release?
Any feedback from Cryptic would be great.

I was testing these out on Tribble, and ………. well, they work too good.
From what I can tell, after receiving about 5 to 7 shots my attacker gets Placated
Does CtrlX play a factor?

Lets say I have 150 CtrlX……
My attacker has 76 CtrlX……
Now because I have not doubled his CtrlX, the Placated should not work, it should only work on those with 75 or less, not to mention those with Control Resistance needs 4X


It seems like to me that this Placate is occurring regardless of CtrlX levels, I cant tell for sure, I need someone to help me test this out that has these Shields, I can adjust my CtrlX levels and we can see if this works.

If the Placate is happening every 5 to 7 shots then this is...……… hmmm...…… needs to be fix.

Torpedo launcher thoughts

I'm finding some frustration with the torpedo system set up. Often, to get the most of a build, I'll have to mount a torp launcher to complete a set bonus, but I'll find the launcher itself to be lackluster, or it'll interact with Boff powers in a different way from the other launchers, forcing me to micromanage the launch systems when activating powers. It's cumbersome and not always fun when mounting multiple types of launchers. An example of this would be the Gravimetric Photon Torpedo launcher, which provides a nice set bonus to photon torpedo damage, but fires slowly and creates a slow, destructible torpedo when using High Yeild which doesn't hit it's target half the time due to enemy movement or counterfire. Granted, the damage is nice when it/if hits, but I genuinely prefer the rapid-fire streams of torps, as it has more of a classic Star Trek feel to it in additon to being more reliable.

My suggestion is to use a magazine system. Launchers would be mounted in weapon slots as normal, but ships would have several magazine slots, similar to the consumable slot, and the players can select which magazine the launchers would draw from. The launchers mounted in weapon slots would have the [Acc] [Crit] and other modifiers, the magazine slot items would define the damage, reload time, and other special game effect.

Excessive Development Set bugged

Having equipped all three pieces of this set, I have not been able to find the Residuum Reactant Deployment option on the command wheel, nor anywhere else. It's listed as the "Set 3" ability, when all pieces are equipped, but it isn't showing up anywhere. After placing a support ticket, I was directed to add it to the ps4 bugs forum. Hope it gets fixed. Really wanted to see that ability in action.

I am trying to set myself up for the next upgrade weekend on PC. I have the following characters that I try to build with a "canon" ship and build or close that is both effective and fun. After about a 9 month break I am back and working on the gamma, Lukari and competitive reps and see some of my build are a bit outdated or they have added some new stuff I want to set up.

New Dominion VG 65 engineer in Dom VG carrier
Romulan 65 sci in Temporal T6 classic Romulan bop
Fed 65 tac in new walker class
ToS 65 sci in atlas temporal dread
KDF 65 tac in Dsc sarcophagus ship


I try to build them close to accurately, so the dsc walker and sarch will use dsc weapons, the ToS ship will use ToS era phasers and photons, etc etc. I do want to get a set of the Wrath of khan phasers and upgrade them for my ToS fed who also has the ToS T6 connie with the updated 1701 A skin, plus I have the T6 miranda which I love.

Anyway, I do either a sci torp boat build or a standard energy weapon/ torp build and wanted to know currently what is the meta for each as far as the space sets, (def, impulse, warp, shield, singularity) and also what are some maybe not meta but solid 3-4 pc sets I can use that maybe provide a fun skill for using the full set. I do like to use some sets and also the fun epic consoles in my ships like the torp platform, or phaser turret console, cardi support platform, stuff like that.

I would like to get the items I don't have yet before the next upgrade weekend, so its marks, or running a mission 3 or 4 times to get the pieces of a set etc.
