There's some sort of bug that's been affecting the forums this past weekend. I'm talking to our forum host right now, but while we're waiting for a response - if you can't post, message me or one of our moderators, and we can fix it for you. Thanks for your patience.

UPDATE: Literally heard back as I was typing this post. The issue SHOULD be fixed now, but please still message us if you can't post.

Will there be flash sales for the lower tiers of ships?

$

To my knowledge, there hasn't been a flash sale for the lower tiers of ships but there have been multiple flash sales for the bundles which include a lot of the T6 ships. Right now, Black Friday and the occasional ship sales can discount these ships by 20-25% so why inquire about an extra 5-10%?

Since the lower tiers of ships aren't in bundles, the cost per t6 ships can be lower than the cost of a t4 ship making it really not worth buying them even for the admiralty card.

T6 pilot escort mega bundle 12,000/9 = 1,333z per ship
T4 stand alone ships = 1,500z

I don't think retro bundling lower tiered ships would be a solution as a lot of people would end up already have some of each bundle. However, a 30% off flash sale might get these older ships out of the c-store's space dock.

Design change suggestion/request - Morrigu'/Fleet Morrigu

After giving this a thorough thought, I'd like to ask the opinion of the community on the following proposed change done to the mentioned romulan ship model. (the lower Mogai/Valdore models wouldn't justify a 5 fore).

Changing its 4-3 weaponry setting to 5-2 (and eventually if it's too op, drop one tac console slot and make it a science console slot).

I'm interested in your arguments alongside with your opinion.

I told you so?

There were people telling me I was crazy, that unlocking allied faction ships wouldn't be used as a excuse to not make less Romulan ships

Well didn't take them long to prove me right! First primary faction ships right out of the gate!

PvE queues are broke since the revamp of them

ever since the victory Is life expansion came out the pve queues are broke.

ive been spending more time waiting on a que time to start than I do actually playing them now.
you queue up a pve and you wait for enough people for the que, then some tart that queued it rejects its or misses readying up for it so your back to waiting for the timer comes up again but when it does your not given the option to accept/reject it so you have to wait for the time to count down only be to kicked from the queue because you failed to accept/reject it because you never had an option for it. so now you back to waiting again, and forget about setting up a team of 5 players to play queues since only the leader is ever given the option to accept/reject the queue now.

how do you go from having a fully working queue system to breaking it in one expansion?

seems like every time an update or expansion comes out some thing that has been working for years gets broke, doesn't cryptic have a QA person, and if they do why are they not doing their job and making sure things are working before a release.

what STO needs for consoles is a what they have for the pc a tribble/beta server to make sure updates/expansions are not going to break a working game for months because the track record makes it seem like cryptic never tests any of the stuff they are putting out for consoles before they release it?

Hold the cons, a tier 6 New Orleans? But no Nova?

*flip desk*

Really cryptic? REALLY?! A tier 6 New Orleans before a tier 6 Nova?!!!

*head desk*

Not that I'm not surprised the New Orleans is showing up and the raptor looks good but really? NEW ORLEANS?!! Over Nova?! Grrr.

Like it says above, no errors, no logs just b00f Sto is gone.
It can happen in a queue, whilst doffing, whilst chatting, infact it happened twice last night in the Ce event.
This is a new pc build but it happened on my old pc build as well.

I've tried 32 bit and 64 bit mode but to avail, the only thing i'm swinging towards is that Sto doesn't like 4k monitors, but no doubt someone will post after this saying theirs is fine.

I'm not alone in this either i have spoken to other people ingame who suffer the same issue of complete and utter ctd with no errors.

Anyone? thoughts on a postcard please.

The woes of Star Trek 4 (or 14 if you prefer) and the Kelvinverse's future.

I was bouncing around some entertainment vlogs and heard that it has been reported that Chris Pine has walked away from contract negotiations for the 4th installment of the Kelvinverse Star Trek movies. The casting contracts had originally been made as a three movie commitment, so any new movies would require new contracts be made for the entire cast. However the problem comes that Paramount is having major financial troubles and can't afford the huge budgets of the previous three films, so they are unwilling to commit to pay raises.

Assuming they lose Chris Pine (Kirk), would it even be worth making another movie in this continuity? Should they recast Kirk and any other actors that don't want to continue on Paramounts terms? Should they shuffle the entire crew out for the less well known b-team characters that were introduced in the Animated Series and Motion Picture eras?

My head is telling me that recasting would probably lose the interest of the casual audience. However my heart is crying out that the benchwarmers deserve their chance to shine. If we can have Pike in Discovery why couldn't we have Decker in the movies. It would also give them quite a bit of freedom to take the story in new directions, which was allegedly the point of the reboot in the first place.

So what do you guys think should happen? Should they take the reboot series behind the barn and put it out of its misery or should they gamble with recasting?

Rookie questions

Hi hi! -curtsy~

Giving foundry a spin and here's some questions:

1: When setting up dry docks, what should the difference in the Y axis be if I want to place ships inside the docks?
2: Why are certain clothing items, such as the thigh high boots with significantly high heels, (the ones the TOS Romulan girls wear), and the Starfleet academy micro minis, not part of the standard player tailor costume...me and a few friends would LOVE those...me especially since I can make my comic based uniform more accurately.
3: Any way to take a current toon and 'import' the appearance into a foundry? And can one import a foundry costume one made onto one's toon appearance?
4: Is it me, or does the face and body editor a have more options?

Thankies! :)

I want to come back to STO. I forget what happened originally I think I got caught up in warfighting in EVE Online and just never got around to it... I did duck in a year or so ago? But saw that I was stonewalled a tier or two from end game ships. I'm willing to brave it and I don't mind hard work but I never could upgrade past a certain point since everything seems to require me to be in a fleet to progress. So how does end game work now? And does anyone have tips on how to progress past the mandatory fleet point? The reason I got stonewalled is I never can find an active fleet.

How do I activate my Hestia class starship's MVAM?

$

When I pruchased the Hestia class starship from the 'C-Store', I did it because I was 'curious' and fascinated by what I saw as the 'evolution' of the formidable 'PROMETHEUS' class super-ship.

Today, has been a very special day in Star Trek Online, for me. You see, today, I FINALLY 'activated' the amazing 'MVAM' feature in one of the FOUR Prometheus class starships, that I bought in the 'C-STORE'. Along with a 'Hestia-class' ship. Which is the first of what I intend to be a Prometheus/Hestia 'Squadron'.

I just need to know this. When I purchase the Prometheus, and Hestia ships in the 'C-STORE', do the ships come already 'equipped', with the 'MVAM', or do I have to purchase 'MVAM', separately? I really would like to know.

I can't seem to put both on my ship at the same time. I get "You cannot equip more than 1 items of that category."

It's like they both have the same name but obviously they don't. One's not even an omni-directional beam array, at least not technically.

Bug or working as intended?

Missing Transwarp Locations from a Delta Recruit character

My Delta Recruit is level 65, in the middle of my progress to level 65 i lost all but 2 transwarp destinations.. I believe i googled the problem and the solution was to retrain the characters skill points. This fixed my problem taking up my free retrain token. Fastforward to now, and my character once again is missing all but 2 transwarp locations.. I contacted support i was able to retrain my character again.. this time nothing. It did not work. I am in a fleet level 46, i should have at least 4 fleet destinations i have none. I am left with SOL and Defera. (so far everything else seems to be intact and problemless) I am open to suggestions, any additional information needed i can provide. (This issue is also ongoing with support at this time also, I post this as a bug report for the tech guys..) Also, if this issue has been reported i apologise for the duplicate, as I could not find any refrence here to my situation. Thanks to everyone for their time, reading/responding..

Lieutenant B'eta Missions Unlock?

I have a KDF-aligned Jem'Hadar and Cardassian, but can't figure out why I cannot unlock Lt B'eta missions. Those missions are listed in her Wiki Page.
https://sto.gamepedia.com/B'Eta
My Jem'Hadar and Cardassian are Lv65.

My Cardassian has played through Empire and Warzone story arcs. None of B'eta's missions show up in the Available or In-Progress tabs for missions. I talk to her in First City, this is all I get:

She says the same thing to my Jem'Hadar and I still lack the appearance of these missions in Available and In-Progress mission tabs.

What am I missing to unlock these missions?

An Introduction to The House of Kular

NEH DAQ MAY' 'OH TLHINGAN TEH TLHINGAN
ONLY IN BATTLE IS A KLINGON TRULY KLINGON

The House of Kular, or HoK for short, is the United Federation of Planets (UFP) division responsible for the support of STO's Klingon faction, along with all Klingon-aligned Romulans.
HoK supports the Klingon faction through three primary fields: Fleet Management, Event Support, and Forum Support. HoK manages all of this with a great team of staff filling several different roles, including:

Battle Officers: HoKs front-line warriors responsible for the planing and hosting of events for UFP's Klingon population.

Battle Masters: The staff responsible for maintaining HoK's fleet holdings, and making sure there is always projects available for members to earn Fleet Credits.

Orion Syndicate Traders: Members entrusted with looking after HoK's fleet banks, and acquiring rare & expensive items to sell in our Fleet Shop at a discount.

Positions in these job rolls are often available for members who are interested in giving something back to the community.

What The House of Kular offers it members:

  • Fleet Management: In total HoK manages a grand total of eight holdings and two banks spread across two fleets in-game, of which the main fleet has every upgrade complete (until they add the next one). Along with invites, promotions, Roll Call processing and the messages of the day - HoK is, partly, our in-game admin power-horse for the Klingon Defense Force.
  • Event Support: If fleet management is the pint, events are the blood wine. Supported through a dedicated event team, the largest portion of HoK's staff sees to this field with complete focus. Including but not limited to all end-game PvE content runs, themed PvP events, Bat'leth competitions, and massive Fleet Days - there is something for everyone.
  • Forum Support: Finally, HoK support's STO's Klingon faction on the UFP's forums. Under these forums members can discuss, among themselves, builds, upcoming content, make guides, and most importantly request an invite to the fleet.
