No text appears on any ingame button for Artifacts launch

My buttons just appear as blocks of color. There is no text in any of them.

And upon logging in I heard a message that I received my first skill point on a toon that should have 31 skill points.

From time to time we have to deal in missions with a device that is capable of destroying a planet, a planetkiller, a doomsday device and I begin to wonder can it really exist. I am sure mankind and any other advanced civilization can make such a thing; that is possible in a technical way. But then there is the question why make it.

You can knock out a planet and everything that lives on it. Now there are countless planets in the universe so what is the point of killing one? A planetkiller is purely a weapon to destroy the people living on a planet, to kill a complete civilization. Now if this civilization is not space travelling, does not have colonized other worlds, you wipe them from the universe. Again, why should you do such a thing. If they are colonizing, space travelling, they may be a threat to you. As you are yourself colonizing space. Yet if you want to get rid of them, you have to kill all there worlds in one go. Hence one worldkiller is no worldkiller.

Space is big, there is no room for a planetkiller. We may be able to create one, technologically, but the same advancement and our knowledge of the universe will tells us, it is absolutely a waste of resources. Unless you just want to kill, as we do in this game.

Do you have to complete any holdings in order to beam to the interior of K-13?

As the question asks, I (and fleet mates both Fed and KDF sides) can get into the system map but no one can beam to the interior map. The holdings say nothing about having to complete anything like is the case for the fleet mine, but none the less nada.

Do like the fact you can take pot shots at passing asteroids though :)​​

Lone wolf?

Just unlocked Lone wolf 1 from the specialization pilot tree, however, I can't find the skill to equip it. I've changed instances and reloaded the game and it isn't there. Anyone else experience this, and if so, any solutions?

This is just to say a big thank you for all the hard work to bring this update. I love it.

Thankfully I knew what to do when the update hit holodeck. I knew how to resolve graphics reset, which judging from Zone chat, alot of people didn't see and weren't paying attention when the message flashed up on screen that graphics reset, as well as resolving the Kit 'bug' (just switch between ground and space folks!) and then reducing Bloom Intensity to compensate for the washout.

I'm seeing this game in a whole new light (Pun intended!) :smiley:

EV Suits no longer have low gravity walk animations on Velugta Dil Mine. I was using the 23rd cent. EV Suit and then noticed guys even with the Solanae EV suits having the same issues.

Graphics Update:
The Visual graphics quality has been improved to meet the standards of DX11 compatible cards.

What the heck is this most of us are running Windows 10 and card Supporting DX12 why didn't you bring us up this this level?

DX11 is yesterday Stuff you should had done that years ago. I am really disappointed.

Bad code to redeem Artifacts reward!

Just wondering if others have this issue. I went to claim the reward for the new Artifacts and when I submitted the code I got the message "This code has expired" . Anybody else having this issue?

Control Settings Keep Resetting!

The latest update appears to have messed with a lot of the settings in STO. More specifically the settings found under the "controls" tab in the settings menu. Basically, whenever I adjust the settings in controls, i.e. toggling them on and off, things work fine in the map, but once I zone to a different map/area the settings reset themselves.

This is most apparent when it comes to targeting and autofiring settings. I want my autofire settings to be at "Toggle, never cancels", but every time I change maps/zones it resets back to the apparent default, "Toggle, target change cancels". This is extremely annoying as it prevents the autofire feature from functioning the way I and, I would assume, most others like it. A few of the different targeting settings also change, though the only one I've really used is "tab target offscreen targets". Ground control settings are also being reset upon zoning, such as autofiring switching back to "disabled" constantly, "tab target offscreen targets" also keeps turning itself off, as well as "aim mode as a toggle".

As one would expect, this issue is very aggravating and frustrating to deal with. I and I'm sure many others would be very much appreciative if this issue was resolved as soon as possible! Thank you! :)

EDIT: According to reports on Reddit, this issue is caused by opening the settings menu after changes to the default settings are made. This issue could be caused by both zoning and opening the menu or just one of them, unsure at this time.

If you've loaded up on Holodeck today to see the new graphics and think everything looks like a pixelated mess, it's probably just a settings issue.

Please enter the following in you chatbox:

/renderscale 1

You can also find this on the Display options panel under "Resolution Scale." 1 should be default, but there is a known issue that has caused many people's to be set to 0.4 or other lower numbers.


If you would like to see the new lighting, and think your card is capable, but "Lighting 2.0" is greyed out, ensure that your settings (on the Display Panel) are set to DirectX 11. DX9 can't run the new lighting.

take a lesson, cryptic - THIS is how you do a GOOD exploration mission

minimal combat, and getting to FINALLY shoot one of the most IRRITATING characters in the game when it does show up

introduction to new(ish) and old lifeforms without it being tedious

an air of mystery through most of the episode

a puzzle that isn't a royal and tedious PITA like some of the temporal operative ones were (though, i'd hesitate to call it a puzzle, because despite the dialogue, i doubt order really makes a difference in the end)

not too short and not too lengthy *cough*of bajor*cough*coliseum*cough*

and most importantly...NO ANNOYING FETCH QUESTS! *cough*of bajor - again*cough*

Artifacts NOT WORKING under DX9. It doesn't even launch

Hi

After today's Artifacts patch, even if it says it supports DX9, it doesn't work. The game crashes after ENGAGE without any error message of any type. I can't log at all. Not even using -d3d11enable 0 -d3d9, or Safe Mode.

GFX Card is Nvidia GeForce 210

Anyone having issues re-running "Echoes of Light" Mission

I just ran it, and now I hail quin and he doesn't have it and in the episode screen there is no replay option...

Only tested so far on my AOY toon.

Moving another item onto that slot tells me that my inventory is full. I can't equip it, delete it, or move it to a different spot in my inventory, whatever it is.

imgur.com/a/ChaLxI logged on today to do some daily fleet mark slogging and found that all of our commodities are gone from our fleet projects... and, while they were full, now the projects are demanding a total of 30 million energy credits. We already spent our energy credits filling the damn commodities. FIX THIS. YOU will mark those two projects as full on EC's. I'm a spender. I have spent quite a lot on this game in the last few years. I will not spend another penny until you fix this ****. Which means you will be missing out on the several HUNDRED dollars I plan on spending over the next few months.

I get that you want to change things. When you do, you need to make certain you are not SERIOUSLY **** over your player base. This is a **** job, pure and simple.

My best Kit has been replaced

My 5+ year old ALPHA Memory R&D made Tactical Very rare Purple MK X non Module KIT which included Smoke, Photon, and Plasma Garnage.
(This is the 1 kit cool kit that had to be Fixed inorder to be able to fire one right after the other you should rember this one.)
has been replace with a Tactical KIT-Garnade Satchel MK X Very rare Purple, with no Modules at all. I really don't think this was
a fair replacement or trade in. I also do not recall seeing that any kits were going to be replace in the release notes. (which seems to be
missing in forums now) I would like to have the KIT back, but if this is not possible anymore you should at lease consider Sending me
Modules for it. The old kit was very usefull to me.

Was running with Winskin winery on a Mac and things were good, but crashing with the new update. Would appreciate if any other players have tricks to get in since the patch!
