Kill one tholian captain: One more question.

Hi.

In the discussion "Kill one tholian captain" you wrote the Problem ist solved.

And in the actual patch notes is written:
•Updated “Kill Captains on Nukara” endeavor to count Tholian captains in the Transdimensional Tactics queue.

But in This PVE I have never seen an tholian captain.
So how can I fight against a tholian captain when this PVE didn't have one.

The main enemy is the tholian Project leader, but this is not a captain.

So the question is how I can defeat an captain, when this mission didn't have one.

So the problem itself is NOT solved.

Turning a contact into a hostile?

This is one I just cannot figure out, and don't even know if it's possible, but how would I go about making a certain contact (either space or ground) go from friendly to hostile at a certain point (say after some dialogue)?

I really want to be able to create specific characters or ships to fight instead of just random "squadrons" and also think it'd be cool to be able to either talk your way out of situations or end up having to fight if you say the wrong thing.

Hi guys! I got a request to start a serious RP thread, so here it is. That last one got out of control, lol. So I guess we can keep the craziness over there. I'll add my first post here as soon as I can, but in the meantime feel free to start. (cc @the0infamous )

Rules/tips:
  • No NSFW stuff.
  • Don't take over other people's RP characters (unless they're okay with it).
  • In general, 'conveniently omit' context that denotes your character as "the player/the one" from in-game, and, rather, generalize events, so as to maintain a shared semi-non-conflicting RP-thread continuity. [Notes: It is not to say your character didn't engage in specific episodes/events, but not to specify they did either.] [Exceptions: Large scale events, like fleet battles (i.e. The Iconian attack at Earth, or general Na'Khul alerts) are encouraged to mention, but may still require some generalization. Use your best judgement!] For major exceptions to this rule, see the discussion thread for an ongoing list of episode/event involvement.
  • The RP is in a perpetual state of the year 2410 (until the game moves forward).

Types of play (can combine more than one):
  • Integrated with story - Join other Captains in solving an issue
  • One off/or more than one off - Like a mini fanfic, make a short stop to replenish supplies, drop prisoners, etc.
  • Side story - Posts about stuff your Captain is dealing with. Can work well with "Integrated with story".
  • (That's all I can think of right now. There's probably more ways.)

Can a contact turn into a combatant?

Quick question, is there a way to have a contact ship start off as friendly and then turn into an enemy you have to defeat? If so, how? I cannot figure that out. Thanks!

P.S. If it's possible would the same method work for ground contacts?

Random Game Wipe?

I was just wondering if anyone else had to reinstall the entire game? On log in today, Arc had an "Install" button instead of the "Launch" button. The game is now reinstalling 21 GB of files. I didn't initiate a game file delete, so I'm wondering if this happened to anyone else as part of the game updates or something. I hope my account/items are all still intact.

Story missions in a party

I and 4 friends play every Tuesday and have since the Delta Recruit event. It's been fun but...

For an MMO, STO really doesn't seem to like teams playing their story missions. Especially the later ones. There are the annoying things like falling through Voyager's or K-13's floors ("if you fall don't click anything!") or someone getting stuck in a rail when beaming into the Tuterien's sphere ("we'll be one man short for this battle, sorry you don't get to participate") because those areas are too small for 5+ people (/stuck almost never works). It happens in space too when the increased number of enemy starships cause some to get stuck in terrain. They can shoot you but you can't shoot them - oh well, everyone abort and let's start all over assuming it will ever work. The less said about how the dialog works in a team the better - It's a mess and I think a major part of the really bad things that happen...

The killer transitions. Sometimes it's people left behind and we cannot continue the mission without exiting and trying again. We've decided Alliances can only be done solo or at most 2 players. Worse are the times when everyone does transition but 1 or more team members have somehow not gotten credit for having completed the previous part.

That last one is the most frustrating. Tonight, 2 people, including my wife, somehow didn't get credit for defending the Annorex in Midnight so when we all got finished we have a "Continue..." button. We're going to have to repeat the fight for Sol plus the whole part on ancient Iconia. I assume some dialog for them got dropped when the "Team Map Transfer" to Iconia popped up. It's insane - they were there the whole time so why didn't they get credit? It has happened to all of us at one point or another and usually it's because someone clicked past a dialog too fast and we didn't get our turn to "Accept" and therefore complete the talk-to objective or whatever before we were swept along.

I really like STO but we don't have this problem with other games we play in and that includes other Cryptic games. This is a multi-player game, right? Why can't these missions work right for teams?

Sorry to vent and I don't guess I know what the answer to fix it is, but multiple weeks of something going wrong in every single session is starting to wear on all of us.

Cannot do new Featured Episode (Beyond the Nexus) on a team larger than 2 people

The new Featured Episode, Beyond the Nexus, is bugged when you try to do it as a team.

In short, it is not possible to do the Episode as a team larger than 2 people. It places you into seperate instances when you try to enter the Rotanev system. Even if you beam out after reaching the USS Madison stage, and reenter the mission, it still splits you up into different instances.

A group of us tested this from multiple angles. It didn't seem to be a problem localised to just us - we invited a couple of others to try and they also had this problem.

A team of 2 people does not cause any issues - both enter the same instance without issue.
A team of 3 people, ends up with 2 people in one instance, and the 3rd in another. As they were in a different instance, mission progression tracked seperately for them, thus rendering the teaming pointless.
A team of 4 people, ends up with 2 people in one instance, and the other 2 in another
A team of 5 people, ends up with 2 people in one instance, 2 more in another, and the final guy in another instance.


Cannot equip new engineering console reward from Beyond the Nexus

Completed Beyond the Nexus on my Level 18 AoY captain, when I tried to install the Reinforced Armaments MK IV console into one of my engineering console slots the game informs me that I don't meet the requirements for that item. As you can see in the screenshot all of the console slots are red when I pick the item up from inventory.2po5nxk.jpg

Could we get Transwarp to Nukara and maybe New Romulus?

Transwarping into a (Azure) nebula is probably suppose to be dangerous. Collision with gas, dust and particles at faster than light speed is probably not a good idea.

Actually, it causes problems for aircrafts at Mach 3+ in Earth's atmosphere.

Question to Development Team, Is there plans to release a T6 Vor'cha ?

Hi there was wondering if we could get some official word if there are plans to release a T6 Vor'cha in the future. Release dates can ofc be kept confidential.

We finally got a T6 Sovereign after a very long wait, but appear to be waiting even longer for the Vor'cha.

Although there is a Fleet Version at T5 i'm surprised there is no official C-Store version so effectively if you are not in a Fleet there is no T5 version.

I'm sure demand is there for this ship esp if you improve upon on the already great Fleet Version (Tor'Khat).

So please give us KDF Players some hope that this classic design that has appeared across TNG to ENT and was once the proud bearer of the title Flagship before the Negh'Var entered service gets it's rightful place in the KDF shipyards.

Wrath Of Khan Admiral Stripes

Honestly, I love the Wrath of Khan series. The colors, the ships and revolution from TOS was amazing and so is the uniform. Except, the Star trek Online Uniform does not have the Admiral stripes. I do see lumps next to the black line area of chest area and back, but it cant be colored. I think that there should be a option, or seperate uniform
for the Admiral uniform Wrath of Khan. Some examples of these piping would be,

Torpedo and survivability

I am looking to make a torpedo boat with the best DPS, with good survivability. What do you suggest?
I'm avoiding energy weapons because I don't want a flying disco ball in space.
