I've been thinking and planning before investing any skill points, and I'd like to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious. My goals are:
For ground, I figure I can use the same build for every toon: Weapon Expert, Personal Shield Resilience, Armor Expert, and all the kit stuff.
For space, I have one build for both my eng toons, one build for both my sci toons, a sci-focused tac build (to unlock manuals) for the tac toon I don't care quite as much about, and an eng-focused tac build for the tac toons I focus on (shown below, in that order). I plan to take skill choices for shields, sector speed, crit severity, and so on, skipping things like stealth/perception. Those seem self-explanatory, but if there's anything subtle that I should watch out for with those, let me know. Thanks.
- Eng toons can survive having aggro in group content, and kill things reasonably quickly in solo content
- Sci toons use space magic and hopefully don't die too much
- Tac toons pew pew and hopefully don't die too much
- Unlock any non-worthless training manuals
