Missing energy credits - XBox One

Is anyone noticing missing energy credits on console? The other day, I had more than 170,000 after unloading a bunch of inventory. Earlier today, I had only 15,000. And now, I have fewer than 500. And I haven't bought anything.

The Tzenkethi Front - A How To

Hi All,

We've been seeing a bit of chit and chat about the length of time it takes to complete this PVE and generally people finding it difficult to understand or formulate a strategy to increase efficiency and maximize their rewards. We have made a video showing that a properly coordinated & pre-planned team can beat even the Elite version of this queue WITHOUT having massive DPS. In fact, DPS isn't important to this map at all and shooting at all the enemies across the map actually wastes time. Team work and each person knowing what they are doing is far more important.

The strategy we decided to try was with a 2-1-2 player arrangement across the map. 2 Left, 2 Right and 1 in the Middle as a Home Base Guard. The 2 players on the side have specific jobs. One is to draw NPC threat and attention away from the other who is responsible for towing the bomb to each base. The player in the middle is there to ensure the ships don't get too close to our base. If one bomber releases a bomb to our base the mission fails instantly or in normal and advanced mode you would fail the optional thus reducing rewards. Therefore, control abilities are paramount for this map. You will see us using Gravity Well and Tractor Beam Repulsors. The Repulsors on my ship pull instead of push while my teammate (@avaeris) who is drawing the threat, have them in push mode so to clear enemies away from me.

My position is on the left side covering and will be towing the bomb.

Please enjoy this and we hope the community gets a better understanding of it no matter what difficulty they choose to play.

Special Thanks these DPS community members:

My friend told me to try STO. I have not tried it in awhile... I always got lost with the UI, and felt like my god so many skills. So I am coming back to give it a try. I always like Klingon but when I tried them, they was label a PVP faction and did not really want that.

I come to the forum to see what has changed, and I don't see a faction forum anymore?

Foundry Eras Open Project - Discussion

With the increased availability of playable endgame ships from various different Star Trek eras, I've been thinking about how to promote and collect role-playing missions set in these eras, for players who want to do more missions appropriate to their ship (and the crews that go along with them). These would not be missions that use time travel, holodecks or other devices to take a player to a selected era, but rather missions explicitly taking place completely within that time period. An example would be the Star Trek Continues mission series.

I figure the best way to get the missions that are already out there collected so people can find them, and encourage authors to make more, is to start an open project along the lines of the Iconian War Anthology and Alliance Exploration Initiative.

We would create tags for the different Trek eras, which players could put in their mission titles, and create a master list, either here or perhaps foundrymissions.com could host it for us. Like the previous open projects, there wouldn't need to be any curating of missions. You put your mission in the project if it fits and you want to.

I'd like to hear any ideas anyone has to flesh this out. "Eras" is a working project title, there's probably better out there. Here's the preliminary list of eras. Some have no-brainer tags. For other's I'd love to have suggestions.

Enterprise - [ENT]
Original Series/Animated Series - [TOS]
Post-TOS to TMP - [TMP]
Wrath of Khan to Undiscovered Country
Lost Era (post-Undiscovered Country to pre-TNG)
Next Generation (TNG to Nemesis) - [TNG]
26th Century - [26c]
29th Century - [29c]
31st Century - [31c]

Why is Battle Group Omega still on the map?

So Cryptic, you rolled out a new sector space map, and managed to
-Fix the "Gon'Cra Neubla" type
-Move the Tzenkethi Battlezone marker to the Gon'Cra system where is actually is, from the Gon'Cra nebula, where it was erroneously placed
-Moved Galorndon Core's galaxy map marker to the proper sector y'all had moved it too some time ago

But failed to remove the big honkin Battle Group Omega marker on the galaxy map, even though y'all removed it not too long ago, and despite the fact I know,m for a fact, y'all had it pointed out, and acknowledged it, more then once when the new map was still on tribble.

Why Cryptic....... WHY!!!

(Totally trivial and basically meaningless complaint)

Enough with the Logs on DS9 already!

Is anyone else tired of this?

Every new reputation now, whenever you advance a Tier you have to go 'read mission logs on DS9.' Really? they can't just transmit them to me? I can't read them on ESD or better yet in the Captain Quarters on my own ship?

What is with the obsession with making us all go to DS9 just to read a mission log? I hardly ever go to the Alpha Quadrant, so it's annoying to constantly have to travel there just to click 'next' and then leave.

Can we please consider allowing us to read these logs from a more convenient location?

4 warp nacelles, Why?

Ok this has been bugging me for a while now but why do some starships have four warp nacelles?

Ive been looking at the data for the Constellation-class and i can find no statement as to why they gave it four.

Has there ever been a reason stated why starfleet designed some ships with four nacelles, are 2 of them back up does it make the ship move faster put less strain on the nacelles, has there ever been a statement that anyone knows of as to why?

So what happened to the L.S.S. Concordium?

We barely got a glimpse of that ship before it got replaced by the shiny new one. I get that the Reskava design wasn't ready in time for "Echoes of Light", but it seems a bit weird to introduce a new ship and then immediately replace it. It would be nice if the Concordium got another appearance or two somewhere, if only in a "passing the torch" scene.

Cryptic to focus on pvp?

So I saw this picture on reddit, and I was wondering why even bother to bring out new pvp content if it's beyond broken? It was never in a great state to begin with, but it was at least do-able before "the greatest expansion ever". Back then there were way less (over-the-top) abilities, immunities/penetrations, p2w toys, 1-shot kill mechanics and monster-grinding to name a few. In the old days the game was better held together strategically in its minimal, yet functional state before it went overboard with the "moar dp$" hysteria and the constant release of new, but poorly tested and broken abilities. The game right now feels even less like science fiction and more like some anime-based Final Fantasy fest with a blinding haze of 'magical' effects in combat that only an impressionable console kid would appreciate. (And while at it i'll say NO I'm not looking forward to ANOTHER reputation tab in Season 12 - It's time to stop!)

So the final result today is that only a handful of (toxic) players actually play pvp (10-30 people or so I think), while the rest of the thousands of players don't whatsoever (and I don't blame em). After taking a 6 month break, I came back only to see the same few people every single time in the queues and Ker'rat... and that made me think that the general suggestion around here to just remove pvp from the game alltogether may not be so bad actually. Because quite frankly, I don't think Cryptic has any idea how much work it takes to undo the damage they've done to the game by truly fixing pvp.

Merely releasing a new map might bring in a few more players, but it won't be long before the old toxic playerbase, whales and trolls will immediately drive off any potential new comer. Still... if Cryptic is actually serious about bringing pvp back, then heck, I won't stop them, but I'm just saying they have a TON of work to do to balance things out.

How do I start playing a Foundry mission (BOff, ground mission)?

I know it might seem to be a dumb question to most of you. I haven't played the game for awhile and I was trying to get my self readjusted to all the changes by doing some Foundry missions. This guy Seethastar or something like that created all kinds of BOff missions where you go in and fight mobs of all the different species. I remember last time I did these missions, I had to "click" on a datapad, or a rock, or a door to a holodeck somewhere to initiate the missions... What do I click on to start the missions? The description doesn't list what to do. And the DEVS have changed ESD since the last time I was there.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. And thanks.

Players: Become the Enemy!

$

I was reading a few other threads and everyone keeps complaining about not being able to play enemy factions or fly those ships.
Well, how about this? There is a system in use in the game Champions Online (also by Cryptic), which can turn a player into the enemy for a short time and it a free for all situation with them attacking player areas and players mobbing them until they die or the enemy does. Unfortunately, the ratio is extremely low for people to use the device there because of the extreme cost of it on the store in that game. To use it here it needs to be easily accessible and not the whole point of pursuing a consumable item for days on end just to play the enemy for 5 minutes. No, it needs a high turn-over to make this concept valid in STO. So -

We already have the holo from the Ferengi.
We have Q.

Why not add something to the game that turns a player into say a Borg - Cube (space), Queen (ground). Make it have a time limit of say 30 minutes to 1 hour in which if a player doesn't use it, but gets removed if not used by then, but once used last for up to say 2 hours, starting from the time the player activates it. On activation, have it generate separate map instance (something simple with enough room to play). If you're dealing with a Borg Queen, then have a random chance for a player to become assimulated and become a Drone/Sphere - who also fights players until defeated or time runs out for the Change Device. Perhaps the winning player (last kill? highest score? total damage/heals? etc.) should get the device as a final prize in order to keep the queue active. Perhaps the top 3 should. There are considerations on total devices in the game at any one time, but also of what to do when there are none.

Why?

1. It's lets players do something the would not ordinarily be allowed to do by game rules.
2. It adds a whole new aspect to the game, something the majority of the players would persue if it showed up on a PVE/PVP Queue.

Issues to consider? Basic award system should be like that of standard PVE queues, except for those who become the enemy. How to deal with that side? Perhaps a point system per kill? Or just a flat 'Good Play' award.

Should it be a C-Store item? Possibly. But when you consider it could be something that generates an instance, it might be best to have it as an award, both the random drop (from what? where? how often? Boss drop from other PVE instance [would generate more interest in those]? etc.) and a C-store item. Could be included as lockbox item as well. But to really get use out of the concept, it needs to be readily available to everyone, and C-store and lockbox items aren't.

And here's another point, they don't have to just be Borg. The device could be for a whole series of different 'Bosses' or enemy types. Perhaps, one of their abilities would be to summon additional enemies of that faction, as players can summon Security/ support ships.

Anyway, just tossing this out there for people to think about and for @Tacofangs to consider passing on.
It's only an idea. As mentioned, a similar concept is already use in Champions Online.

Really liking the new Tzenkethi PVE queus

As much of a dire situation the PVE queue list is most of the time, I actually kinda think that the Tzenkethi PVE queues might last awhile.

They are fun, not overly difficult, and actually give out some decent mark rewards.

Pugged them both a few times earlier today and got 60+ marks every time, even with what would normally e considered a "bad" team.

MAYBE they might last a bit longer then the others.

Greetings Captains!
We will be having a maintenance tomorrow 1/31 at 7AM Pacific for 2 hours. No Patch notes, just a routine maintenance. Please note this maintenance is only for PS4 - the maintenance for Xbox One was done during the brief outage today.

Enemies stronger in STFs?

$

So I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I just want to make sure about this and that I'm not missing something. Are enemies stronger in STFs? I've built myself a nice little fleet of ships, each with they're own equipment and while I try to upgrade them as best I can, I have too many to try and get them all up to MKXIV Epic, the most I try for is MKXIII UR, with a few exceptions. However thats not the issue, is solo missions, or at least in missions that can be played solo, I do a fair amount of damage and have no problem taking out groups of ships on Advanced difficulty. However as soon as I go into an STF, even set to Normal, I still hardly do any damage. I've never parsed it, but from the numbers I see it simply seems like the enemies in STFs have a LOT more shields. Is this true?

Any thoughts on the NX torpedo console?

I am finalizing my points on this console, but wanted to see what others have noticed about the performance of the torpedo (and micro-torpedoes) fired from this console.

Credit to players who find something I did not find.

Thank you.

Beating the Tzenkethi Battlezone Problem and Possible Solution.

$

I think that everybody had their fair share of not able to cap all the zones so here's is a possible solution. First we need to cap the outer zones first, then have at least 1 to 3 players stay behind and guard the zone while the other players go for the next zone. Then do the same thing with another zone and have at least 2 players stay guard and wait for the tzenkethi ships to respawn. When all the outer zones are capped. Go to the 3 inner middle zones and do the same. Then all players should take out the boss who ever it may be.

Today, in one of the instances we did exactly that. But we didn't manage to cap all the outer zones because we kept on losing the capped zones due to the fact the Tzenkethi ship (THEIR CRUISERS) are op. Although it is a level 60 BZ. We had 2 outer zone left to cap and when we capped them, we discovered that 2 outer zones (and later 3) were under (attack) the Tzenkethi control. So we were stuck capping the outer zones all day. The real problem is that there weren't enough players in the instance to successfully hold and cap all the zones (Maximum players in a instance is ONLY 15). We were practically in a stalemate situation and have been playing a small game of tug of war all day without any success with the Tzenkethi even though we did get plenty of Lukari marks, but that's not the issue.

Hopefully this strategy might help the players and those who have better weapons and equipment to beat this nightmare.

So... how many people are starting to see these ships and have an uncontrollable urge to chase them around sector space going "NOM NOM NOM! GET IN MAH SPACE CHIP DIP!" in local chat? I have this urge to just keep doing that to every ship I see. Or chase them around with an empty bag of cool ranch to fill it with all the ships?
