Hello PvP community!

It has been silent for a long time around the topic of STO-PvP-tournaments, but now the time has come for a great last PvP-tournament of a different kind - the NoBs V.
Everyone is allowed to participate in this tournament!
You sign in for it as a singleplayer and after the deadline is over, all participants will be distributed into fair teams with experienced players, because of that there won’t be a team, which will be known as a winner before the tournament has started.
First of all the rules which make it even possible for people, who doesn’t have a lot of ressources, to participate.
Rules:
Only T5U fleet or Z-store ships (no event, lobi or lockbox ships, also consoles from T6, event, lobi or lockbox ships are not allowed to be used on the allowed ships),
Only MK XII very rare equipment is allowes (fleet equipment is allowed, except tactical consoles from fleet spire),
All Equipment is banned that came into the game after Delta Rising (Mission rewards, Research Lab Consols, Secundary Deflectors and Weapons like Coalition),
Krenim Boffs are not allowed,
No itmes from R&D are allowed (crafted weapons are allowed, as long as they don’t have crafting modifiers like pen),
Lobi equipment is not allowed,
Only reputation equipment is allowed from before Delta Rising,
No personal and space reputation traits are allowed which came into the game with the R&D-revamp or afther that,
Starshiptraits aren’t allowed,
All Doffs, which came with the release of Delta Rising, aren’t allowed,
Specializations aren’t allowed (they can be disabled for space),
Only bridgeofficer skills are allowed, which were available before Delta Rising,
A maximum of three captains of the same career are allowed to fly together,
A maximum of two ships with battlecloak are allowed per team,
The console Fluidic Phase Decoupler is not allowed,
A maximum of one AMS and one blackhole per team is allowed,
A maximim of two aceton assimilators per team is allowed,
No Scramble Sensors with duty officer,
Console swapping to reduce a cooldown is not allowed,
The Doff Emergency Conn Hologram is not allowed,
Every participant’s gateway must be open at the day of the tournament.
A maximum of 4 hanger slots

Registration:
You can sign in til 21st March 2016 in below this post.
For the registration, I need to know your @handle and with which career you want to participate (Sci, Eng, Tac), furthermore I need to know, if you are a pro, experienced or a beginner and if you are able to lead a team / to be a caller.
For example: @captainhunter05, Sci/Eng/Tac, able to lead a team / to call.
On 03/21/2016 all particpants will be distributed into fair teams.
These teams have time til 1st April 2016 to prepare theirself under the rules for the tournament (for example: a team can play against an other team during the training period. Because of doing that, you’ll bring yourself and your team 100% prepared into the tournament).
The tournament is determined on 2nd April 2016 (Saturday), probably with a livestream/youtube and moderators.
Furthermore there will be a teamspeak server, which will be used for training, and for the tournament itself (because of that all participants should have teamspeak).
We hope that as much people as possible will sign in.

New character selection bad pose

The new character selection screen has some problems. Because there are two officers standing on the same side, and because all the officers are so close together, it can result in officers being completely hidden or sticking their arms in each other's faces if the officers are of dissimilar sizes. This would be a good time to add a feature I've wanted for a while: where the player can customize the order in which the officers appear on the loading screen, and maybe even select their pose/device.

General:
  • Adjusted wing animations for the Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer to properly transform during warp.
  • Added Section 31 badge to Male TOS Uniform.
  • Added Section 31 badge for Intel jackets
  • Updated battlecloak to preserve shield overlays while firing under cloak.

UI:
  • Improved “Change Active StarShip” Window.
    • Improved resizing of window.
    • Improved icon sizes.

Content:
  • Set minimum sidekick level on New Romulus to 50.
    • This means that all players on New Romulus, regardless of actual level, will be sidekicked (temporarily set) to level 50.

Systems:
  • All ranks of the "Teamwork" Trait now display more precise information about their bonuses.
  • Resolved an issue that was preventing the Wide-Angle Quantum Torpedo Launcher from correctly coming pre-equipped on certain Assault Cruisers when used at low levels.
    • If this bug happened to you, the item should be reclaimable from the Dilithium Store Reclaim tab.
  • Resolved an issue that caused the Invasive Coilgun to deal its additional Electrical Damage on each shot, instead of every 5th shot as intended.
  • Resolved an issue where Grace under Fire required you to lose 25% of your health in 5 seconds to activated.
    • It now correctly only requires 20%, as the description states.
  • Resolved an issue with the new Wide Angle Dual Heavy Beam Banks where they were dealing much less damage than intended.
  • Buffed the Weapon Category Damage % on the Bellum consoles in the Discovery Legends reputation
  • Resolved an issue that would allow using Weaponized Dark Matter while the player is incapacitated.
  • Resolved an issue with the Non-Baryonic Matter Deflector being unable to re-engineer the 2x Hullcap it starts with.
  • Added icon for Section 31 Phaser Pistols buff.

T6 Oberth support thread

Putting this up here since he last thread is over a month old now.

The Oberth was a strangely designed ship but after thinking about it the design grew on me and I've been wanting this ship updated to T6 for some time now, it's pretty much the only ship I am asking for from the devs. It's the only one of the TMP era ships to not be engineering/cruiser based and the last ship from that era remaining which needs to be added to the game. This ship has been stuck at T1 for a long time now.

If this ship was updated to T6 it would give me an excuse to start playing as my sci toon who I have been neglecting for some time now, my only expectations is that it will at least have 5 sci console slots and two ltcom boff slots with one as universal, I'm not sure about how the full configuration should be.

I'm sure that there's others who also want this ship updated to T6 form, please show your support for this ship being updated to T6!

Unable to Launch Game

After the server came back up from downtime yesterday I went about patching then trying to start the game. Got as far as the Cryptic logo with loading bar getting stuck roughly 3/4 of the way through loading, game hung there for about 5 minutes then stopped responding. Closed game, restarted to verify and that as well locked up.

Decided to restart my pc and try again and verify finished this time around. Launched the game and got stuck at the Cryptic logo again. Figured something is probably corrupted so uninstall/reinstall. Started it up today and still getting locked up on the logo. Rolled back my overclocking a couple weeks ago (was causing issues with the Far Cry series) so ruled that out.

No "Ooops" message, nothing, just GameClient.exe stops responding. Was installed on my 2Tb but even tried it on my SSD main drive and still crashing. Reinstalled it back onto my 2TB drive (second reinstall) and, you guessed it, still locking up at the same point. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm getting ready to just retire from the game again and go back to EVE Online.

Windows 10 x64 Pro
Asus ROG Strix RX480 8GB
AMD Fx-8350 4.01GHz
32GB Ram
480GB SSD (main drive)
2TB Storage Drive

Discovery plotline - too much rehash of the same

I have played through pretty much the entire game. I started in 2015 or so and took a long break from March 2017-Oct 2018. The game has been around since 2010. What I noticed was that the Plausibility of Reason which includes a prison break is way too much like the episode Facility 4028 - another jail break with malfunctioning automated systems.

Repel boarders scenarios - also done to death. The Gamma Quadrant storyline had a lot of promise which I felt was not done to death.

Another issue with the Discovery gameplay is that there are fewer respawn points. I "died" and pretty much had to walk through the entire map. This is pretty annoying because just like hiking in real life, I hate to walk through the same hill again in the same day.

Does anyone else feel the same?

I started playing star trek online and i see you have the ability to use a turbolift now and go to engineering deck and crew decks and i just had this idea of basically as there is Klingon military on the ship patrolling well walking around i just though adding dialogue or text bubbles at the top of the head would be a great addition and if they had any request for you to take up missions. And also make them say sir and q'pla i dont know the exact thing but it would be a nice addition and also the ability to request people and see how the ships doing and all that.

We're currently a lvl 6 fleet with only the founding members. We're looking to grow so we're taking a shot at recruiting. We all come from different walks of life so as long as we can keep that in mind then I don't see why we shouldn't grow together. We're a PVE fleet but not opposed to PVP. We're always looking to learn new tricks, methods, and strategies in order to become more efficient. We all have multiple characters and may possibly in the near future look to start a Klingon fleet as well. If you're reading this and you're part of an armada and wouldn't mind taking us under your umbrella to further your goals then we're all for that too.

So I entered the What Will You Discover writing competition on consoles and managed to come third. I provided all the information requested by the community team, but have yet to receive my prize. On top of that, for the last 2.5 months, the community team appear to have ignored my attempts to communicate with them. The support team, while fantastic, have thus far been unable to help. At this stage, I’m beginning to doubt I’ll ever receive my prize, and especially doubt I’ll get an apology for what the majority of people would believe in unacceptable treatment.

More maps to be removed from the RTFO system?

Hey folks, Peter here.

With today’s patch I understand that Cure Ground is being removed from RTFOs. I read that in the patch notes with mixed feelings as I’m well aware of the ups and downs of that map after 7 years of play. Heh, think it was even the first PvE map I ever ended up in.

In any case, I’m very curious as to what you guys think about it. Why this map, why not others? Or on a more list-wide level, are there other maps you liked to see removed and if there are please name them and explain why.

We all know that the DSC Connie is on its way in-game and that it would have been here by now were it not for the fact that Season 2 has an episode left and the Devs are waiting to see if there are any surprises in store. What I'd like to know it what everyone thinks might be included in the ship once it gets in game. So go wild and let's talk shop!

Personally, when I saw the differences in weapon ranges between Enterprise and everyone else on a screenshot this morning I was struck with an idea. A unique Phaser Array or Photon Torpedo only allowed 1 per ship with a 12km range. There's only one weapon currently in game that does this and that's the Hirogen Tetryon Sniper Cannon (I think that's what it is called). They'd be visually similar to the TOS Phasers or Photons, but just different enough to distinguish between the two.

With this 12km range should come some limitations though, perhaps a narrow firing arc similar to DHCannons or a minimum range of 2-5km so it can't be used all the time.

Anyway, what ideas can you come up with?

New hair color / texture. Completely horrible.

So the hair coloring and texture has changed again.. Some colors look better such as blonde and orange, but black has turned pitch black again. It looks completely horrible.

Thoughts?

Black hair is now pitch black, it has no real depth or texture anymore. I tried to make it a lighter black color, but on sunny maps such as Risa it looks grey... So... Yeah. Completely horrible decision on the hair... Again... Really guys?
