ABOUT THE UFPLANETS ARMADA
Our Armada is designed with a community focus at the forefront and the UFP has been involved in the Star Trek gaming scene for over 13 years. You can read more about the history of the UFP here. What separates our Armada from others you may come across is our dedication to our members and those wishing to align themselves with us. We share an interest in the Star Trek franchise but also strive to uphold and promote the values of equality, respect, honour, and justice as described in the United Federations of Planets charter.

We have an extensive history with STO, including interviews with developers, assistants and stars with more planned for the future. Our community is often given exclusive access to these important game resources due in part to our organisation’s size and in part to the partnerships we’ve formed with our sources and the larger community. In addition to the dedication of our all volunteer staff, we also have a number of STO players who are always willing to help others out with builds, tips and tricks, helping players with their own goals, or just getting together for fun.

We would like to be your home away from home among the stars. We support autonomy for all armada members, but we will also work to ensure that you have representation and a voice in matters affecting relations between different groups, the management of armada features, and an open line of communication to discuss concerns and questions. Your fleet will be recognised as an important part of our greater community through your selection of two representatives to join the Armada Delegates Assembly, allowing you to have direct contact with us.

Armada fleets are welcome to utilise the UFP TeamSpeak server for your members as well as participate in any UFP-sponsored event.
As part of welcoming you into our community, we will be offering a forum signature service to your members, similar to our own but representing your own identity in our community. It also goes without saying that you will be welcomed to our cross-faction STO channel, as we support both Federation and Klingon fleets with the Armada feature.

An Introduction to The House of Kular

NEH DAQ MAY' 'OH TLHINGAN TEH TLHINGAN
ONLY IN BATTLE IS A KLINGON TRULY KLINGON

The House of Kular, or HoK for short, is the United Federation of Planets (UFP) division responsible for the support of STO's Klingon faction, along with all Klingon-aligned Romulans.
HoK supports the Klingon faction through three primary fields: Fleet Management, Event Support, and Forum Support. HoK manages all of this with a great team of staff filling several different roles, including:

Battle Officers: HoKs front-line warriors responsible for the planing and hosting of events for UFP's Klingon population.

Battle Masters: The staff responsible for maintaining HoK's fleet holdings, and making sure there is always projects available for members to earn Fleet Credits.

Orion Syndicate Traders: Members entrusted with looking after HoK's fleet banks, and acquiring rare & expensive items to sell in our Fleet Shop at a discount.

Positions in these job rolls are often available for members who are interested in giving something back to the community.

What The House of Kular offers it members:

  • Fleet Management: In total HoK manages a grand total of eight holdings and two banks spread across two fleets in-game, of which the main fleet has every upgrade complete (until they add the next one). Along with invites, promotions, Roll Call processing and the messages of the day - HoK is, partly, our in-game admin power-horse for the Klingon Defense Force.
  • Event Support: If fleet management is the pint, events are the blood wine. Supported through a dedicated event team, the largest portion of HoK's staff sees to this field with complete focus. Including but not limited to all end-game PvE content runs, themed PvP events, Bat'leth competitions, and massive Fleet Days - there is something for everyone.
  • Forum Support: Finally, HoK support's STO's Klingon faction on the UFP's forums. Under these forums members can discuss, among themselves, builds, upcoming content, make guides, and most importantly request an invite to the fleet.

PvE queues are broke since the revamp of them

$

ever since the victory Is life expansion came out the pve queues are broke.

ive been spending more time waiting on a que time to start than I do actually playing them now.
you queue up a pve and you wait for enough people for the que, then some tart that queued it rejects its or misses readying up for it so your back to waiting for the timer comes up again but when it does your not given the option to accept/reject it so you have to wait for the time to count down only be to kicked from the queue because you failed to accept/reject it because you never had an option for it. so now you back to waiting again, and forget about setting up a team of 5 players to play queues since only the leader is ever given the option to accept/reject the queue now.

how do you go from having a fully working queue system to breaking it in one expansion?

seems like every time an update or expansion comes out some thing that has been working for years gets broke, doesn't cryptic have a QA person, and if they do why are they not doing their job and making sure things are working before a release.

what STO needs for consoles is a what they have for the pc a tribble/beta server to make sure updates/expansions are not going to break a working game for months because the track record makes it seem like cryptic never tests any of the stuff they are putting out for consoles before they release it?

Do Klingon and Romulan captains experience the battlecloak bug?

$

I am not reporting a bug. This bug has already been reported several times. I am asking out of concern if Klingon and Romulan captains have experienced the battle cloak bug. I am referring to the bug where the ship gets stuck in cloak for a bit and cannot uncloak. Cloaking is a fundamental feature of those factions and I would hate to spend money on a Klingon or Romulan ship and have the cloak bug out.

Right now I experience this bug on my t6 Valiant class starship. I play on Xbox one. Spamming the cloak button or holding it down seems to break the cloak most of the time. Is this a problem only with certain ships or all ships that can battle cloak?

Disappearing Traits and other bugs

On the following mission, the mission wipes out all of a characters traits requiring them to be manually reset. I do not know what is more annoying - that it happens at all, or that I already reported this 2 years ago and it STILL hasn't been fixed:
Keep your Enemies Close, Sphere of Influence, A Step Between Stars
There are two others whose names escape me right now.

Also, in regards to Jem Hadar characters:
I can not access the duty officers from the bridge of ANY non-Jem'Hadar ship. This is crippling to my play style for Doffing.
I can not access my T5 or T6 Escorts I received for membership nor the small shuttle. These were membership items and should be available.

Can someone identify this weapon for me?

I was testing these out on Tribble, and ………. well, they work too good.
From what I can tell, after receiving about 5 to 7 shots my attacker gets Placated
Does CtrlX play a factor?

Lets say I have 150 CtrlX……
My attacker has 76 CtrlX……
Now because I have not doubled his CtrlX, the Placated should not work, it should only work on those with 75 or less, not to mention those with Control Resistance needs 4X

It seems like to me that this Placate is occurring regardless of CtrlX levels, I cant tell for sure, I need someone to help me test this out that has these Shields, I can adjust my CtrlX levels and we can see if this works.

If the Placate is happening every 5 to 7 shots then this is...……… hmmm...…… needs to be fix.

Just what the title says. Doff contacts/npcs on the TOS connie interior are clipped/sitting halfway through the floor. Not just the npcs who are doff contacts some npcs doff contacts and non-doff contacts alike are like this. Not all of them are like that and not all the doff contacts are like it.

What's wrong with my ship build?

Ship: Mogai Heavy Warbird Retrofit T5

Front weapons: 3x very rare mk 12 antiproton dual cannons + uncommon mk 12 photon torpedo launcher
Deflector, Impulse Engines, and Singularity core all Mk 12 with rare, rare, and uncommon qualities in that order
Shields very rare mk 11 and they have more shield capacity than most mk 12 shields I've seen
Aft weapons: 2x rare mk 11 antiproton turret and 1x rare mk 10 antiproton turret (will be upgrading them to mk 12 as soon as I can)
Standard experimental weapon
Engineering consoles: 3x rare mk 12 field emitter
Science consoles: 2x rare mk 12 nanite hull repair things
Tactical consoles: 4x rare mk 12 antiproton mag regulator

I've been trying to do the episode missions but a lot of them are just impossibly hard to beat in space combat so I need advice on my ship gear, if anything's wrong with it. To be more precise: I will never upgrade my ship to T5-U(can't afford that 15 mill EC cost in the exchange), I have 2 million EC so that's my budget, I'm not in a fleet and I have no reputation so don't even think of suggesting fleet or rep gear, it has to be gear I can buy in the exchange in my budget range or gear that's rewarded from episode quests ONLY. I'm also a completely free to play player and I will never spend real money on the game, so a T6 ship is also not gonna happen. I've finely tuned my bridge officers abilities and all of them have the superior Romulan operative trait. My ship's power is set to weapons so I normally have 125 weapon power in combat and I'm a lvl 65 Romulan tactical officer.

hello SNR my old friend, I've come to talk with you again....

THREE times today, back to back, and dropkicked each time.

So... apparently I was afk.

Went into the borg red alert. Before I could reach the two ships nearest me, some 30 km away, they were destroyed. I started to turn toward the next closest group, some 50km away, and apparently they and three other groups were destroyed (elapsed time, perhaps 8 seconds).

Boss ship cutscene as it warps in. One guy was nearby it (I assume), by the time I turned my camera to face it, it was destroyed. Elapsed time 2 seconds. Total red alert, 10 seconds. I never had a chance to fire a shot.

Now I'm sitting around with an afk penalty, because the devs have so thoroughly broken the dps in the game. It's seriously out of control, and is ruining the game experience of many players.

I say this, knowing this is old news... but I feel it needs to be mentioned again in the hope (probably a vain hope) that they may one day address the problem.

Crystalline Catastrophe vs. Crystalline Cataclysm

Hey folks!

After playing the event map with its new adjustments yesterday I must admit that I was positively surprised at first. Watching Netflix while setting my teddy bear on spacebar and let him handle getting first place did not work anymore. Paying attention again pays off as some rudimentary design mechanics actually begin to surface despite all the DPS rofl-stomping peeps can do there.

Hence my question:

Which version of the map do you like more and why?

After passing on my enthusiasm about Cataclysm in one of the chats Hellspawny replied that he would get back to me in two weeks again which really gave me a good laugh. And sure, he is right. Some things are better not to be judged too fast. But nevertheless I’d really love to hear the ups and downs on both version of the map from the community and the event will run for a few weeks so we have enough time for this. If u haven’t made up your minds yet feel free to discuss and place your vote option when certain.

I thank everybody for their participation in this poll in advance!

Hunting the Edit Monster

Greetings folks. As some folks may be aware we've seen some sightings of the Edit Monster recently. For those unfamiliar with him, he's the monster that eats posts for a snack from time to time whenever he gets hungry. With that in mind comes the serious part. We've been working on a potential solution to shut him down for good and see if we can't put a stop to this annoying issue for everyone. We believe we've made some progress into the issue and have some possible causes identified but we need some assistance from you guys to be certain which I will get to momentarily.

The good news is we've been able to identify where the posts are going when he eats them. As it turns out we discovered a tab visible to myself and other mods as well as anyone with administrator powers on the forums. We believe there is something on the back end causing the edited posts to be mistakenly marked as spam when they shouldn't be. This brings me to what we need from you guys. To be sure of our theory we need you guys to post below and let us know if you have encountered the edit monster previously. If you can give a rough idea of when you last encountered him this could help with checking some things on the backend. Keep in mind this may not be the only possible cause of the edit monster as we're working to resolve this issue with the forums. As folks may be aware the forums are powered by Vanilla and as such Cryptic works with them to resolve such issues. I do not at this time have information about when a fix will come but I can assure you folks that we are working to resolve the issue.

Please leave your name below and a rough timeframe as to when you last encountered the edit monster. This information will be used to check some stuff on the backend and hopefully help us get a possible fix out for you guys. This thread has been passed on to @ambassadorkael#6946 so we can get the ball rolling. Now let's hunt us an edit monster.

UPDATE: We're making some progress on this one folks. There may be some bits of weirdness until things are 100% ironed out. Please continue to list your name if you've been effected by the edit monster.

What's your favorite landing party mixup? For the longest time I did 3 tacs, 1 engi, and 1 sci where I filled one role. It's worked decently enough over the years but the other day I went 4 engiees and 1 sci (my toon) with mines, mortars, turrets, and a shield generator. It blew through things like nobodies business. Lots of things going BOOM! What works best for you?

New Salvage Interface/System, suggestion!

$

I was not sure on where to post suggestions, so I just posted it here! Sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I actually have this idea from someone else, I read it in a post on the forums ages ago.. But no one ever made it a real suggestion and I don't remember who wrote it.

Currently the only way to salvage is to right click on every single piece of equipment and clicking "salvage" and then confirm. This can be very tiresome in the long run...

The suggestion is that the idea should be identical to the system we have for contributing NPC's to fleet projects etc. To be sure, there can be a warning dialoge box asking you if you are sure you want to salvage the equipment.

Of course only salvageable equipment should show up in the list, stuff that is protected should of course not.

I made a few edited (please don't judge my Microsoft Paint skills) screenshots to show the idea of how the salvage system should look, so it would be really easy to use.

What are your thoughts?
