Revamping an old toon

It has been a few years since I've played STO.

After playing a new toon for a while to get a new feel for the game, I decided I wanted to play my main toon. He's engineering. He was at max level when I left the last time and he was pretty good. Level 55 maybe? I can't remember. It looks like the ship has a bunch of Borg components on it. Level XII if I remember correctly. The first mission I tried was with Empress Sela. With the ease that my ship was destroyed it was like it was made of tissue paper and the D'deridex ship was never in any danger of getting below 75%. No big deal. I know I have some catching up to do. I made some changes but it was only marginally better. I had completed this mission with my new, practice toon so I knew it was doable.

Once again, no big deal. I'll just replay the old missions. Well...I couldn't get past the Azura mission. :p

I really want to play this toon. He was my very first toon from the day the game launched. Any ideas on what I need to do to make him viable again? Any advice would be appreciated because I have no clue where to start.

There is fed fleets recruiting? I'm looking for active fed fleet for 2 toons. I made a call on channel zone but I got invite for almost dead fed fleets. For example, you're the only one player online for days... FYI, I left fed fleet filled with racist Euros, I 'm not interested in this kind of fleet anymore.

Could I get some monster player in my STO please?

I am a pretty casual player, and have never been a PvPer in any game I played. Then Champions Online did something that made me actually do some PvP; which is let you temporarily play as one of the game's villians.

I've never been a fan of normal PvP where an uber player can stomp someone who will never bother to min/max, but for some reason playing as a powerful "monster" with a crowd of people attacking you(or conversely, playing as a member of that crowd attacking the monster and being able to duck out if you start getting kilt) is just kind of fun.

It's not hard to imagine this in STO, where in a special queue or battlezone a limited number of people are playing as Borg or Undine or whatever, while the majority are wailing on them. And of course it almost goes without saying that both sides of that fight could earn marks in a new reputation.

So yeah, I would enjoy something like this in STO =)

I was testing these out on Tribble, and ………. well, they work too good.
From what I can tell, after receiving about 5 to 7 shots my attacker gets Placated
Does CtrlX play a factor?

Lets say I have 150 CtrlX……
My attacker has 76 CtrlX……
Now because I have not doubled his CtrlX, the Placated should not work, it should only work on those with 75 or less, not to mention those with Control Resistance needs 4X


It seems like to me that this Placate is occurring regardless of CtrlX levels, I cant tell for sure, I need someone to help me test this out that has these Shields, I can adjust my CtrlX levels and we can see if this works.

If the Placate is happening every 5 to 7 shots then this is...……… hmmm...…… needs to be fix.

Hunting the Edit Monster

Greetings folks. As some folks may be aware we've seen some sightings of the Edit Monster recently. For those unfamiliar with him, he's the monster that eats posts for a snack from time to time whenever he gets hungry. With that in mind comes the serious part. We've been working on a potential solution to shut him down for good and see if we can't put a stop to this annoying issue for everyone. We believe we've made some progress into the issue and have some possible causes identified but we need some assistance from you guys to be certain which I will get to momentarily.

The good news is we've been able to identify where the posts are going when he eats them. As it turns out we discovered a tab visible to myself and other mods as well as anyone with administrator powers on the forums. We believe there is something on the back end causing the edited posts to be mistakenly marked as spam when they shouldn't be. This brings me to what we need from you guys. To be sure of our theory we need you guys to post below and let us know if you have encountered the edit monster previously. If you can give a rough idea of when you last encountered him this could help with checking some things on the backend. Keep in mind this may not be the only possible cause of the edit monster as we're working to resolve this issue with the forums. As folks may be aware the forums are powered by Vanilla and as such Cryptic works with them to resolve such issues. I do not at this time have information about when a fix will come but I can assure you folks that we are working to resolve the issue.

Please leave your name below and a rough timeframe as to when you last encountered the edit monster. This information will be used to check some stuff on the backend and hopefully help us get a possible fix out for you guys. This thread has been passed on to @ambassadorkael#6946 so we can get the ball rolling. Now let's hunt us an edit monster.

UPDATE: We're making some progress on this one folks. There may be some bits of weirdness until things are 100% ironed out. Please continue to list your name if you've been effected by the edit monster.

This series is a complete walkthrough of every major system in Star Trek Online. Reputation System, Duty Officer System, Admiralty System, Research and Development, Fleets, Upgrading and Re-Engineering etc. Every player, new and veteran, will find this series a valuable source of information, tips and tricks. Hello everyone!

Some of you may know me, some of you will not, but i have been playing Star Trek Online since just after the Free-To-Play transition. In that time I have come to know the game very well - all missions, factions and systems.

Last year I produced my first ever Let’s Play Series which was received extremely well. The feedback that I received was fantastic, and I was delighted that the series is a huge benefit to, not only new players, but veterans of the game as well. This series was carried out on a brand new account as a “free to play” player on the Federation Faction, and covered all missions and systems as they become available to a new player.

Due to the success of the last series (and requests from subscribers) I am now going to produce a second Series. This time I am going to focus primarily on the various systems in Star Trek Online. Essentially, this is going to be a “Quick Start Guide to STO”. Or another way of looking at it is “everything except the story missions”. New players to the game should find this “Systems Series” extremely helpful, but veterans of the game may also learn some new information about the game too.

Do you play on a console? It does not matter! You will still see complete walkthroughs of systems that are more or less the same on console as on PC (aside from UI of course).

Are you a new player stuck on a particular system? Want to learn all there is on Crafting, Admiralty, Re-Engineering and other game systems? This is the series for you!

I post a new video every weekday, and list each weeks releases and invite discussion on them in the “Starfleet Media Coprs” section of the website here > Starfleet Media Coprs

Return of the Obelisk Carrier as a mission reward.. ??

I have been playing for a few years and would like to see the return of the Obelisk carrier via as a mission reward. yes I understand there is a version only available from the fleet store and Advance version in the Lobi store. Perhaps like the "Temporal Ambassador" mission in the Vigilance quest line, it was be a mission reward for the Sphere of Influence in the Solanae Dyson Sphere where we are first introduced to the Obelisk Carrier. Maybe we can get to the point where we can have an Obelisk Carrier, Fleet Obelisk Carrier, Advance Obelisk Carrier, and Fleet Advance Obelisk Carrier??

Customize Starship

Was trying to customize a fed starter ship and when I clicked buy it said it required something from the exeter. Couldn't 'purchase' the ship or customize until I switched some things around. Now, attempting to customize a KDF starter ship and I'm getting the same thing when I click purchase.
