Hello. I'm planning on coming back to STO after being gone I wanna say nearly two years. Ive put in almost 1200 hours, be a shame to let all that go to waste. When I left off I was working on the update that had you working in the giant bio dome in the Delta Quadrant. When I hit Vice Admiral I bought, yes with real actual dollars, the Oddessy Tactical Cruiser. Ship name: ArcadiaofmyYouth(I would have separated the words but it wouldn't let me and it all still fit), Captain name: Phantom F. Harlock. The reason I left the game was many reasons: first I no longer had a place to play privately or to be able to chat with my clan mates. Then even though I bought a premium ship I still felt underpowered, because I found out I had to grind ridiculous amounts for crafting gear. Then my clan where kinda snobbish and didn't wanna help, it felt like me against the galaxy. Then I was getting bugged by microtransactions and more powerful ships being released when I just bought one. So yeah I rage quit can you blame me?
Here's the strange twist to my tale: About six months ago I wanna say, I decided what the hey and come back. I was bored and STO is still free to play. My account is still good, my username and password is still the same but uh Houston we have a problem. I don't know, is its because I used the Arc Launcher but when I logged in my character was gone and I got hit with the character creation screen. Actually I had two characters, my Vice Admiral Harlock, and a LT Klingon female and both poof gone. Along with the ship I paid 70 bucks for. Not to metion the other packs I paid for.
I asked Arc for help be they didn't really help. They said give us details. I couldnt have been more detailed! My Character that I spent money on is somehow gone from my account! Then they acted like it just magically fixed itself. No it didn't. Actually I'm hoping installing through Steam is what does the trick, that's what Ive always used to play STO was Steam, I just didn't think it mattered that my character and ships and whatknot where in the cloud on their server somewhere.
If after all that, and after contacting Arc again I still don't have my Character back....I'll try and start a new character, might go Romulian never tried that one. If I end up 100% having to create a new character is there anyone out their in the void that would be able to give me some advice on coming back in? Whats the fastest route to VA? Is the game more pay to win now or are their ships in the in game currency shop?
